Easy Half-Up Hair Style Tutorial
Fall is finally here, and I can’t wait to spend as much time as I can outdoors in the cool weather. There’s nothing better than spending time in the cool autumn breeze wearing a cozy sweater and sipping on a warm apple cider – unless you also have an apple cider donut in your hand too! I already have a trip planned to our local pumpkin patch, and I can’t wait for Summer’s first Halloween trick-or-treating experience. As much as I love fall weather, the cooler and drier days require me to switch up my beauty routine. I say goodbye to lightweight moisturizers and break out the heavy-duty serums, creams, and nourishing hair products.Keep reading to see how to create a cute fall hair style in three easy steps and learn about my favorite product for keeping my scalp healthy in the cold weather.
Easy Fall Hair Style Tutorial
This easy fall hairstyle is a breeze to create and will keep your hair out of your face on breezy autumn days. Plus, you can easily transition this style into an updo if you want! I love this look because it’s quick and easy to complete, comfortable to wear, and versatile enough to wear with a variety of outfits. It only requires three simple steps, so it’s perfect for everyday wear. Before we jump into the hair tutorial, I want to stress the importance of prepping your hair correctly before styling your hair. No matter how skilled you may at styling your hair, your look is always going to turn out better when you have freshly-washed hair. In the cooler months, my skin and hair dry out from the dry weather, so I always opt for moisturizing and restorative formulas. When it comes to my hair, I also like to incorporate an anti-dandruff shampoo into my weekly routine to keep my scalp healthy and prevent and treat a dry and itchy scalp. I personally like to use an anti-dandruff shampoo a few times a month in the colder weather to keep my scalp healthy, but you can use this soothing formula on your hair throughout the week if you really want to keep your hair and scalp in tip-top shape or battle frequent dandruff.
Since fall is already here, I picked up a few new bottles of anti-dandruff hair products to get ready for the upcoming cold weather. I grabbed a bottle of Dove Dermacare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Anti-Dandruff Shampoo for myself and a bottle of the Dove Dermacare Scalp Invigorating Mint Anti-Dandruff 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner for my husband on my most recent trip to Target, so we are fully stocked for the fall and winter! Keep reading to learn how to create my favorite easy fall hair style and why the Dove Dermacare line at Target is great for fighting dandruff and keeping your scalp healthy all season long.
Step One: Create A Half-Up Ponytail
The first step in the fall hairstyle is to create a half-up ponytail. Tie the ponytail with an elastic and then wrap a small section of hair from your ponytail around the base to hide the hair elastic. Once it’s fully camouflaged, secure the hair with a bobby pin or two. Make sure your ponytail has your desired amount of volume in the front. I personally prefer hair styles that are a little bit messy and aren’t too perfect, so I always opt for a not-so-perfect ponytail with extra volume instead of a sleek ponytail. Feel free to customize this look to your preferences!
Step Two: Curl Your Hair
Once your ponytail is exactly how you want it, use a curling iron or flat iron to create your favorite type of curls. If you want to see how I create my curls, simply click the search icon in the upper right corner of my website and search for “curls.” You’ll see quite a few tutorials for some of my favorite type of curls. For reference, I used a 1″ curling iron for today’s look.
Step 3: Fluff Your Hair
The final step in this easy fall hairstyle is to fluff your hair. Pull on your ponytail to fan out the hair and gently tousle your curls to create volume and a not-so-perfect texture. In my opinion, the messier and fluffier the better (especially with fall fashion), but as I mentioned earlier, feel free to customize this look to your preferences.
And that’s it! I’m so obsessed with this easy fall hair style and know I’ll be wearing it all season long. My favorite part is that it keeps my hair out of my face in the windy weather – in addition to looking super cute!
The Best Way to Fight Dandruff
As I mentioned earlier, I picked up the Dove Dermacare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Anti-Dandruff Shampoo at Target, and I was instantly drawn in by the yummy coconut and shea butter scent. This shampoo is specifically designed to help nourish your dry scalp and relieve itchy irritation. It’s formulated with active Pyrithione Zinc to fight dandruff and reduce the dry and itchy scalp you can develop in the colder weather. While it’s tough on dandruff, it’s gentle on your hair with a mild and pH-balanced formula that leaves your hair flake-free, smooth, and less frizzy. If you prefer a moisturizing formula, look into the Dove Dermacare Scalp Soothing Moisture Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. It features the same anti-dandruff formula plus a blend of oils to gently nourish and smooth your hair.
My husband’s hair is really short, and he’s pretty low-maintenance, so I bought him the Dove Dermacare Scalp Invigorating Mint Anti-Dandruff 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner. It features the same active Pyrithione Zinc to effectively tackle dandruff, and the gentle formula features a fresh minty sensation that’s so refreshing! If you’re looking for a 2-in-1 formula that keeps your hair smooth and manageable, check out the Dove Dermacare Scalp Clean & Fresh Anti-Dandruff 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner too. It keeps your dandruff in check while renewing the moisture in your hair and scalp.
If you’re like me and have dry skin and hair in the colder seasons, definitely take a peek at the Dove Dermacare line when you head to Target to pick up your pumpkin spice coffee, festive decorations, and cozy fall sweaters and boots. From October 14th through October 27th, you’ll receive a $5 Target Gift Card when you buy four Dove hair products, so now is the PERFECT time to stock up for fall and winter!
