Summer to Fall with Banana Republic
As I was packing for The Blog Societies conference earlier this week, I noticed something interesting about the items that I chose to pack. Any outfit can look cute for a quick picture, but only certain items are functional enough to wear for a long day of classes and workshops. As I was packing, I realized that for every new item I added to my suitcase, I brought another “trustworthy,” classic piece from my collection. I just didn’t want to risk spending the whole weekend in uncomfortable shoes or potentially problematic clothing. I wanted to focus on enjoying myself at the conference, meeting new friends, and learning as much as possible.
I also noticed that all of my “trustworthy” pieces came from . I immediately made a mental note to invest in a few of their pieces for fall and winter. When they emailed me asking if I’d like to style a few items from their fall collection, I jumped at the opportunity. I focused on classic pieces that I could wear now but still transition to fall/winter, and I ended up choosing this , , and .
I chose these three pieces because they look great together, but they also mix beautifully with staple items in my closet. The blue sweater looks great with jeans and boots, and I’m so excited to add tights, a slouchy sweater, and a cute pair of ankle boots to the skirt during the fall.
As much as I love my new skirt and sweater, these nude are definitely my favorite purchase. The design is feminine without being over-the-top girly, and the nuede suede leather works with dressy and casual outfits. They’re slightly more expensive than most shoes in my collection, but I am SUCH a fan of Banana Republic’s shoes. I literally can’t go a week without wearing my from Banana Republic, and they have been one of the best fashion investments I’ve ever made. That’s why I knew that these needed to be in my life, and they are the perfect addition to this Banana Republic outfit.
