I used to be the girl who got a manicure and pedicure at a nice salon every single week without fail. I justified the expense by telling myself that I wasn’t very good at painting my nails, but after a few months of cringing over my credit card bills I knew something had to change. I made a deal with myself. Each month, I allowed myself to buy a bottle or two of nail polish if I didn’t go get my nails done. Fast forward a few years: I now love painting my own nails and have nail polish in every color of the rainbow. Every season I can’t wait to try out the newest shades, but my heart always skips a beat when I see Essie’s spring collections at Walgreens. The bright colors combined with Essie’s incredible formulation is sheer perfection. I used to drive to store after store to find the newest Essie collections, but now I know to head down to my local Walgreens. They always have the latest collections, and I don’t have to feel so bad about spending money on nail polish when I earn Walgreens Rewards points that I can trade in for money off my purchases! This season, I’m inspired by the spring nail trends of wearable brights and neons. Keep reading to see my favorite nail colors of the season and two easy spring manicures!
In my opinion, Walgreens always has the best selection of nail polish colors. They’re always stocked with the newest collections, and this season I just had to grab every single shade from Essie’s spring neons collection. The bright colors remind me of a tropical island vacation, and they’re the perfect amount of color for sunshine-filled days without being over-the-top. If you’ve always been a fan of bright colors but have been afraid to try out a trendy look, give one of these Essie polishes a try. The formulation glides on easily, and you can purchase any of these polishes in addition to any nail tools you’ll need at Walgreens!
If you’re not sure what looks to start out with in your at-home manicures, here are two trendy spring looks that are guaranteed to receive dozens of compliments. Both looks are fool-proof and super cute.
For my first manicure, I combined the spring nail trends of color blocking, neutral glitter, and bright neons! Simply paint your thumb, index finger and pinky finger with Essie’s Sittin’ Pretty (neon pale purple). Add Essie’s I’m Addicted (neon aquamarine blue) to your ring finger and complete the look with two coats of Essie’s Beyond Cozy (champagne glitter) on the middle finger. The finished look is fun and bright, and it looks fantastic against spring’s colorful fashion palette. If you want to go for an even brighter neon look, paint your nails with a white polish, such as Essie’s Blanc, before applying the neon colors. The white base really makes the neon’s pop!
The second manicure I’m sharing with you is another spring favorite. This manicure uses the same technique as the first manicure, but the look is completely different! Simply paint your thumb, index finger, and pinky finger with Essie’s Serial Shopper (neon muted orange-coral). Add Essie’s Beyond Cozy (champagne glitter) to your middle finger, and Essie’s Blanc (white) to your ring finger. To make the look a little more girly, add polka dots or a heart with Essie’s Chills and Thrills (bright cobalt blue). To add a heart to your nails, simply place a few drops of Chills and Thrills onto a piece of tape. Using the end of a bobby pin or a nail art dotting tool, follow the easy step-by-step tutorial below.
