Ashley Brooke Nicholas

saturday stroll in the park

With less than six weeks until our move, I have been spending way too much time indoors lately. E-mailing, job/apartment searching, and packing have taken up 90% of my life this week, and I woke up this morning feeling like I was going to go crazy if I didn’t get out in the sunshine. Even my husband’s offer of takeout and a Mad Men marathon couldn’t subside my cabin fever symptoms, so it was obviously a very serious situation. We hopped in the car and had a mini-adventure around the city. We nearly crashed a wedding at a local park, stumbled upon a blues festival at the beach, and had the most delicious food at Maple Street Biscuit Company. After an afternoon of sunshine, beautiful scenery, a ridiculous amount of calories (totally worth it), and singing You Belong to Me (my favorite rendition) way too many times, I couldn’t stop smiling.
