october favorites
First and foremost, I truly hope that all of my East Coast friends are ok! I’m originally from Florida, so I know that hurricanes are not fun. I’ll definitely be keeping you and your families in my prayers this week!
And now on to my favorites 🙂
Gilly Hicks Hastings Blush Eau de Toilette: I can’t get enough of this body spray. I debated whether or not I should get this fragrance for a good two months, and I’m glad I waited because I found it on clearance at Gilly Hicks! Online it’s still full price, so be sure to check out your stores to see if you can find it for a lower price! Apparently it’s supposed to smell like a combination of warm cedarwood, juicy cactus apple, and tart nectarine, but I just smell fruity deliciousness.
Bath and Body Works Candles in Leaves and Pumpkin Cupcake
Being a typical girl, I want everything I own to smell amazing at all times. Bath and Body Works candles help me accomplish this mission by making my entire apartment smell incredible after only burning for a few minutes. Even though it’s only a bit chilly in Southern California for a few hours each day, I am completely enjoying pretending I live someplace that actually has four seasons each time I light one of these candles. Leaves is a classic apple-cinnamon/apple cider type fragrance, and Pumpkin Cupcake is just beyond words. The most delicious smelling pumpkin spice with just a hint of baked goods. It’s needless to say I will be grabbing quite a few more during the Black Friday sale. Note: If you’re in the market for Leaves or Pumpkin Cupcake, I would go ahead and grab it NOW because they do sell out every year!
Local Socialite Fashion Show + Swag Bags: I got the fabulous opportunity to sit front row at the Local Socialite fashion show during Style Fashion Week in LA recently thanks to HaulerDeals (one of my favorite deal sites)! I’m a bit of YouTube junkie – did I mention I’m starting my own channel soon 🙂 – so I was super excited to be able to sit next to the gorgeous Dulce from DulceCandy. Check out her blog and YouTube channel- she has impeccable taste and an amazingly sweet personality! I was also excited to see Nikki from NikkiPhillippi, Rachel from Checkinthemirror, Sonya from Sccastaneda, Allie from Glasslipperbeauty, and Heart from Thatsheart walk in the show. I loved so many of the pieces from the Local Socialite collection, and I was pleasantly surprised that they were all very affordable! And honestly…who doesn’t love a good swag bag? I’ll be doing a more in-depth post about the fashion show soon with a sneak peek into my bag, but some of my favorite items were provided by NYX Cosmetics! I’m sure that a few of those products will be in next month’s favorites post.
Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte: Obviously the greatest fall drink in the history of mankind. I take mine with nonfat milk and sparkly/metallic nail polish ( aka the perfect rose gold in case you’re a nail polish addict like me!)
Sally Hansen Xtremewear Nail Polish in Pacific Blue: Speaking of nail polish, I’ve been drawn to bright cobalt blues lately. I know it’s fall and dark colors are in, but I think this polish is a fun, modern take on the traditional fall jewel tones. Sally Hansen’s Xtremewear line is very cheap (usually under $3 a bottle) and goes on opaque in two coats. I like adding Essie’s Shine of the Times (an iridescent flakey glitter) on the ring finger to make things a little more interesting.
Alphabet Photography: I’ll be doing a full post on this piece soon, but I was lucky enough to receive this beautiful piece of photography art with my last name from Alphabet Photography to review. It looks so, so good in our apartment, and I can’t wait to share more details with you guys soon! Full post is in the works 🙂
Tangle Teezer: If you have long hair or hair that’s prone to tangling easily, buy this brush. I had heard so many girls on YouTube rave about the TangleTeezer for years, but I could never find it in stores. I found mine at Target the other day, and I am a convert. I’ve never found another comb or brush that will allow me to completely brush out my tangly wet hair after getting out of the shower so quickly and without ripping out half of my hair. In addition to being amazing at detangling hair, I love that the plastic bristles are so easy to clean out and sanitize.
