Pomegranate Basil Seed Moscow Mule
[one-half-first]1 part Pinnacle Vodka®
2 parts Ginger Beer (any variety will do)
Generous splash of Pomegranate Juice[/one-half-first][one-half]
Squeeze of Lime Wedge
Pomegranate Arils
Basil Seeds soaked in Ginger Beer
[/one-half]Directions:
Step 1: About an hour before your party, soak your basil seeds in a small bowl of ginger beer. After a few minutes, the basil seeds will start to absorb the ginger beer and puff up. After an hour, they look like clear pomegranate arils. The seeds will triple in size, so you won’t want to add too many seeds to the bowl. Note: The basil seeds used in this recipe are Thai Basil seeds – not Italian basil seeds. You can easily find them online and in most Asian grocery stores. The recipe is great with or without them, but I think they set the recipe over the top! You can also substitute the basil seeds with chopped basil leaves for a similar taste. Step 2: In a large pitcher, combine 1 part Pinnacle® Vodka to 2 parts ginger beer. Add a generous splash of pomegranate juice to the mix to give the drink a beautiful rosy hue and a slightly tart flavor, and squeeze freshly cut limes into the pitcher. I like to add approximately 1 squeeze lime wedge per serving. To finish the drink mix, simply add in a handful of pomegranate arils and soaked basil seeds. If you’re looking for the perfect mocktail recipe, simply omit the vodka from this step. Step 3: Now for the fun part! Break out your copper Moscow Mule mugs and fill them to the brim with frosty ice. Pour your drink mix over the ice and top with pomegranate arils and/or a small basil leaf. Step 4: Pour yourself a drink and get prepared for an overwhelming amount of applause and compliments from your guests! This Pomegranate Basil Seed Moscow Mule might be the perfect fall cocktail. It’s an amazing balance of sweet, sour, and spicy, and the beautiful display is going to make your friends’ jaws drop wide open! The smooth Pinnacle Vodka® combines perfectly with the spicy ginger beer, tart pomegranate juice, and crisp lime juice. Plus, your guests will get a refreshing pop of ginger and basil flavor from the soaked basil seeds! When you’re planning your next fall party, pick up a bottle of Pinnacle Vodka® and give this recipe a try. I know that you and your guests will definitely enjoy this drink, and you might want to be prepared to become your group’s official mixologist! What’s your signature cocktail?
