Every spring, I make an effort to spring clean all of the areas of my life. I declutter and organize my home, refocus on my health and fitness, and this year, I’m also looking into adjusting my beauty routine. We spend so much time buying organic produce and eating organic super foods to fuel our body, so why wouldn’t we also choose the better-for-you options in the beauty aisle?

Finding the Perfect Fit

For years, I tried natural hair products, but my experimentation resulted in nothing more than wasted dollars and bad hair days. Thankfully, I finally found a naturally-inspired hair care line that’s free of sulfates, parabens, gluten, and mineral oil that actually works. It leaves my hair moisturized, bouncy, smooth, and shiny, and it’s only $10 at Target!  Keep reading to see why you should be using sulfate-free hair shampoo and condition when you can and learn more about this awesome drugstore beauty find.

Ok, so what are sulfates? Sulfates are basically the detergents that make you shampoo foam during use to cleanse away dirt and oil. Unfortunately, they do such a great job at cleansing that they can wipe away all of your hair’s natural oils in addition to your very expensive hair color. If you’re dealing with dry hair, split ends, or quickly-fading hair color, I really think you’d benefit from using sulfate-free hair products that don’t contain these harsher cleansing agents.

While there are tons of sulfate-free hair care products on the market, I have to say that most of them aren’t extremely enjoyable to use. The best part of washing your hair is having a luxurious lather from your shampoo, right? Well, most sulfate-free shampoos don’t produce any sort of lather, and they can leave your hair feeling greasy and not-so-clean. But fear not- I’ve found a sulfate-free shampoo that’s absolutely fabulous and extremely affordable.

The  is completely free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, gluten, mineral oil, and dyes, and it leaves your hair clean and nourished without stripping away your hair’s precious natural oils. In addition to the naturally-inspired formula, I think you’re also going to love the delicious jasmine and vanilla fragrance. This shampoo has a smell and formula worthy of a luxury-brand price, but you can pick up a huge bottle with a pump (YASSSS!) .

To get the best results, I like to use the shampoo paired with its sister product, the. This sulfate-free conditioner moisturizes your hair in addition to smoothing the hair cuticle for extremely soft and shiny hair. Just like the matching shampoo, this conditioner doesn’t contain sulfates, parabens, gluten, mineral oil, or dyes, and it’s packed with amino acids to protect your hair against future damage. I love that it smoothes my hair without weighing it down, and again the jasmine and vanilla fragrance and brilliant packaging with a pump make this a must-have beauty find.

Even when I’m using mild products like the , I try not to shampoo and condition my hair too frequently. I work from home, so I try to give my hair a break in between washing and heat styling; however, sometimes your hair just need a little refresher. If my hair is looking lackluster but not super greasy or dirty, I’ll just do a quick cleanse with the .

This brilliant product is like a shampoo and conditioner built into one product, but it’s an even more lightweight cleanser than the Hair Milk Shampoo. It smoothes and hydrates hair without irritating your scalp, and just like the other products in the collection, the formula doesn’t include any sulfates, parabens, gluten, mineral oil, or dyes.

Before I wrap up this post, I want to let you know that these photos were taken on one of the hottest and most humid days we’ve had this year, and my hair still wasn’t frizzy. With summer days in Florida having humidity levels between 80-95%, you can bet your bottom dollar I will be using the products quite a bit over the next few months!
