Laced Up in Charleston

I’ll save all of our shenanigans for a separate post, but to make a long story short, we had a fabulous time and didn’t get into too much trouble. While I loved learning from the speakers, my favorite part of the conference was meeting new friends and reuniting with all of my blogger pals. It’s so nice to be surrounded by a group of supportive women who just get you and can relate to all of the craziness that goes along with blogging.

Since this year was my second year attending #TBScon, I knew that the second day of the conference was going to be fun but tiring. Last year, I made the mistake of choosing an outfit that was cute but not really comfortable, so I made plans early on to wear this comfortable from Forever 21. The loose fit of this dress makes it just as comfortable as a pair of pajamas, but the embroidered detailing and lace-up neckline dress up the simple cut. I fell in love with the dress while it was still on the hanger, and I knew it had to be mine when I saw that it was under $25!

Another fashion mistake that I corrected from last year was my choice of accessories. I packed a lightweight for my business cards and wallet and skipped heavy jewelry in favor of my new, feather-light jewelry from Stella & Dot (see my full review here). I honestly forgot that I was wearing my, , and, which is kind of unheard of with me. I’m normally the girl who takes off her rings and bracelet while I’m still in the car on the way to an event, so the fact that I was able to wear this jewelry for hours on end without irritation is practically a miracle! Speaking of miracles, my lace-up platform heels are about one million times (only slightly exaggerating) more comfortable than they appear. The platform counteracts the height of the heel, and the soft fabric laces don’t cause blisters or chafing. These heels are also surprisingly lightweight for their size! Plus, they’re only $31! Like I said, they’re kind of miraculous.

I returned from my weekend in Charleston filled with motivation and positive energy, and I can’t wait to put some of the lessons I learned into action. Let me know if you’d be interested in hearing about what I learned at the conference!
