It rained every single day last week. I like a rainy day every now and then, but week-long grey skies and ominous rumblings of thunder isn’t my cup of tea. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that my rainy day blues had me plotting a tropical getaway in my daydreams all week long. At one point, I even suggested announced to my husband that we should consider would be moving to Hawaii. His response: Umm, why? My response: Beach day everyday / pina coladas / I look better when I’m tan / We’re getting old / PLEASE. While I don’t think my plan to relocate 3,000+ miles is going to succeed, I did get the nod of approval for a tropical vacation this summer! I’m not sure where we’re going or what we’re doing exactly, but as long as it involves turquoise water and white sand, I will be a happy girl.
Even though we haven’t booked a vacation yet, I’ve already started packing in my mind. This fun Barbara Gerwit dress is definitely coming with me! The bright coral and turquoise fabric shined bright in these photos despite the looming storm clouds on the horizon, but I know that the colors will pop even more against a summer tan and tropical background. While the colorful print and classic design initially drew me to this dress, the comfortable fabric made me fall in love! It’s the perfect summer look for relaxed summer days on the beach, but this dress would be equally amazing with wedges and a bold lip for a festive dinner event. If you’re looking for the perfect accessory for this dress or any summer ensemble, check out theseearrings! The white stone and rhinestone design is stunning, and they couldn’t be more perfect paired with beachy waves and my favorite Ray-Ban Cats 1000 sunglasses (50% off here).
Another item that’s guaranteed to accompany me on my summer travels is my new pair of . I’ve worn Jack Rogers for years, and I am absolutely convinced they’re the perfect shoe. The timeless design can be dressed up or down, and the leather material molds perfectly to your feet. I own the Navajo design in several colors, but the platinum sandals are my all-time favorite. These sandals aren’t the cheapest on the market, but they last forever. Do yourself and favor and pick up a pair or two !
