It Cosmetics at Sephora
I’m kind of an It Cosmetics super fan. I use the It Cosmetics moisturizer, primer, CC cream, powder foundation, blush, bronzer, highlighter, brushes, eyeshadow palettes (ok, basically their entire collection) on an almost daily basis, and I sing their praises to anyone who will listen. Their Confidence in A Cream moisturizer is my all-time favorite, and I’m on my third tube of the Je Ne Sais Quoi lip gloss. I’m a fan girl – plain and simple. When I heard about the new collection from It Cosmetics at , I was interested to see how they were going to expand the line.
It Cosmetics products are developed with plastic surgeons and dermatologists, so they’re geared for performance. Plus, their entire line is clinically-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, cruelty-free, talc-free, paraben-free…basically it’s free of all of the things that are bad for your skin and filled with a bunch of miracle ingredients for you skin. I was interested to see if their collaboration with Sephora would be just as good as their original products, and I have to tell you- the new collection doesn’t disappoint. Today I’m sharing my thoughts on the fabulous new , including which products I’d recommend purchasing!
The new collection is filled with anti-aging skincare that’s specifically designed to make your skin look and feel better. Every product is filled to the brim with anti-aging ingredients that smooth fine lines and wrinkles and deeply hydrate your skin. I’ve been using and LOVING their for the past six months (see me declare my love for this moisturizer here and here), so I couldn’t wait to try out the new skincare products.
As a Florida girl, the (whew, what a mouth full!) immediately caught my attention. My skin is exposed to harsh sunlight on a daily basis, so I’m always looking for new sunscreens to add my beauty routine. This product contains peptides, niacin, hydrolyzed collagen, and hyaluronic acid in addition to SPF 50 protection, and it also contains color-correcting pigments to blur imperfections.
I think that product is a lightweight physical sunscreen that gives your skin a nice amount of luminosity without leaving a shiny finish; however, you won’t get any coverage with this product. I like to mix a few drops of this sunscreen into my on days when I’m not wearing makeup, but I’ve also had luck wearing it underneath and mixed into my favorite foundations. It has a light sunscreen scent, and it doesn’t make your skin look ghostly white or greasy. If you’re looking for a high-end physical sunscreen that’s packed with great skincare ingredients and won’t irritate your skin, I think that you’ll like this product. It’s pricey for a daily sunscreen, though. If you’re looking for a product that will pack more bang for your buck, I’d choose their , which provides sun protection and a full coverage finish.
Theis definitely one of my favorite products from the new collection. I’m a huge fan of cleansing balms, and this balm might be the best I’ve tried so far. When this product is in the jar it resembles coconut oil; however, it melts into a lightweight oil the second it touches your skin. I like to use it on dry skin at the end of the day to remove heavy makeup, and I simply wipe off the oil with a warm washcloth. Unlike some cleansing balms, it doesn’t leave behind a waxy residue on my skin, and I love that the formula includes collagen, hyaluronic acid, peptides, ceramides, and antioxidants. Plus, it smells like fresh orange juice! Definitely a must-have from the collection.
Two more winners from the collection are the serum and eye cream. The has been receivng rave reviews on YouTube, and I completely understand the hype. It’s filled with peptides, caviar extract, hydrolyzed collagen and algae to improve the tone, texture, firmness, suppleness, and elasticity of your skin, but more importantly… it makes your skin feel like velvet. I’m not sure what they put in this serum, but it’s magic. I’ve been applying it every morning before my beloved , and it makes my skin look and feel incredibly soft. When I use both products, I really do see a visible difference in the appearance of my skin and wrinkles. Plus, it has a delicious orange scent!
The is equally brilliant, and it’s been on heavy rotation in my skincare routine. I’m quickly becoming an eye cream addict, and this pale blue cream is one of my new favorites. It contains vitamin C, copper, blue algae, peptide, collagen, essential oils, caffeine, hyaluronic acid, cucumber, and a light blue tint to minimize dark circles. I’m not sure how they packed so many products into such a small jar, but I’m glad they did. While I’m not sold on the idea of a blue tint canceling out dark circles, I do notice that this eye cream plumps up my fine lines and leaves my skin soft and smooth. It feels cool and refreshing underneath my eyes, so I especially love to use this product on early mornings!
In addition to the new skincare collection, It Cosmetics also released a few new makeup items at Sephora. The is an oil-free primer with a matte finish that blurs pores, wrinkles, and uneven texture with Moroccan lava clay, purifying charcoal, papaya fruit extract and hydrolyzed collagen. I’ve been a fan of the It Cosmetics Serum Collagen Veil Anti-Aging Primer (read my full review on this primer in my Summer Beauty Favorites post) for years, and I have to say their new primer is equally fabulous.
While the Collagen Veil primer provides more moisture, the Poreless Skin-Perfecting Serum primer leaves your skin velvety soft and smooth. I like to wear this primer underneath my foundation, but it’s also great for low-maintenance makeup days. After applying the primer to my skin, I’ll pop on a little bit of powder foundation and call it a day. If you’re looking for a primer that will smooth your skin and make your foundation apply evenly without adding any shine, you’re going to fall in love with this primer.
Theis available in 4 shades, and it’s a heavy-duty concealer that packs a punch. I’ve used both the original and illumination formulas of this concealer, and I have to say that it’s honestly not my favorite under eye concealer. It’s extremely thick, and I find that I have to use quick a bit of powder to remove the dewy finish from my under eyes. It’s definitely not a bad concealer. It has great pigmentation, but the texture just isn’t right for my under eye circles. With that being said, I LOVE using this concealer on my face! The thick texture sticks to blemishes like a champ, and it melts right in my foundation to cover up redness and discoloration on my face. I actually learned this trick from Marnie, and she is so right. This concealer is perfect on your face, and you only need to use the tiniest dot of concealer to get great coverage.
P.S. As you’ll notice in some of the pictures in this post, there are a few unopened tubes of this concealer. The lovely ladies of It Cosmetics sent me all of the shades of this product, and I actually already owned this concealer in the two shades that I use on a regular basis (light and medium). I obviously don’t need 6 tubes of this concealer, so I didn’t open the ones I’m not going to use just to swatch them for the blog. I included the unopened packages in some of the group photos simply to balance out the aesthetic, but please rest assured that two the tubes have been used many times and are very well loved. I already have a few unopened tubes in a bag to give to my stepsister Randi (a fellow makeup lover), and I have the other shades in a bag to donate to my local women’s shelters. I take my reviews very seriously, and I wouldn’t want you to ever think that I’d recommend a product that I haven’t thoroughly tested. On that note, if you ever have follow up questions on a product, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or email me any/all follow-up questions that you may have about a product!
And last, but certainly not least, we have the . Like the entire Je Ne Sais Quoi line, this lip balm applies clear and works with your body heat to transform into a delicate baby pink shade. This lip balm has a lightweight and hydrating texture, and it gives your lips the perfect hint of pink for no makeup or natural makeup days. I originally thought that this lip balm was a re-packaging of the original, but after swatching them side-by-side, I see that they’re completely different. The original Vitality Lip Flush in Je Ne Sais Quoi is a much brighter fuchsia pink, and this lip balm transforms into a very light and sheer pink. I love this lip balm for everyday use, but if you’re looking for a lot of color, I’d check out the Vitality Lip Flush or Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Gloss Stain in Je Ne Sais Quoi.
As I expected, It Cosmetics knocked it out of the park. While I think that all of the new releases are solid products, my personal favorites are the serum, eye cream, cleansing balm, and primer. I’d highly recommend testing these products during your next trip to Sephora!
