The Not-So-Glamorous Daily Life of A Beauty and Fashion Blogger + My Favorite Breakfast on The Go!

Welcome to the crazy life of a twenty-something creative professional. I’m a beauty and fashion blogger, actress, and dance instructor. When people find out what I do for a living, the first reaction is something like “Wow, your life must be so glamorous and exciting!” And it does have its glamorous moments sometimes, but honestly, most of the time my life doesn’t like perfectly styled and edited photos on Instagram. In fact, most days my to-do list takes up an entire page in my notebook, my bed/floor is covered with clothing, jewelry, and makeup to style and photograph, I have a script to practice, choreography to plan, and I look like an absolute mess. I’m incredibly blessed to be able to work for myself and utilize my creativity on a daily basis, but the crazy pace of my life barely allows me to throw my hair in a ponytail in the morning- let alone plan a healthy breakfast. With the amount of work that I have to accomplish each day, getting in a nutritious meal in the morning is essential. As much as I love to cook, it’s just not going to happen in the mornings. I try to keep convenient foods stocked in my fridge so that I can have breakfast on the go that has the same nutritional value as a bowl of cereal and milk.
I’ve learned that skipping breakfast in the mornings only leads to overeating at night and/or headaches in the afternoon, so I make it a priority to eat something each morning. Lately, my favorite breakfast on the go has been a Bfast Breakfast Shake. The chocolate flavor tastes exactly like chocolate milk, and the preparation is as easy as grabbing a Bfast shake out of the fridge and throwing it in my purse. The convenient packaging allows me to get the most important meal of the day finished as I write my to-do list or drive to my first appointment of the day, and I can easily pick them up at my local Walmart.

Depending on the post, I’ll spend a few hours finalizing my hair and makeup if necessary, photographing the items or getting someone to photograph me, editing the photographs, and writing a fun and relatable post to go along with the photos. On this particular day, I was planning an upcoming spring beauty tutorial, so I had a crazy lighting apparatus set up and makeup products covering nearly every space in my apartment.
After paying a few bills online and replying to even more emails, I moved on to my next task and began preparing for an audition that I had to self-tape and send off to casting. I sometimes wonder if my neighbors think I’m a crazy person when I rehearse lines over and over by myself in my apartment, but oh well. After a million takes and an hour or so of editing and uploading, my audition tape was finally finished.
Halfway through the day, my energy level is still high from my Bfast Breakfast shake, but I’m ready for lunch. On days when I skip breakfast, I’m ravenous for lunch and end up overeating unhealthy foods or bingeing on caffeine to give me energy to get through the day. As busy as I am each day, I thank my lucky stars each night that I’m able to work on such creative and exciting projects. I know that my schedule will only get busier with each passing year, so I’m anticipating Bfast Breakfast Shakes to become a daily habit.
