Every morning I face the same problem. I wake up with zero energy, look in the mirror, and realize that I look more like a zombie than a human. Then I start trying to convince myself that I don’t really need to wash my face or brush my hair. Makeup, who needs it? After several minutes of complaining about the bright daylight and a little bit of caffeine, I finally wake up and realize that I do need to get dressed, and I’m already running late for something. If you’re not a morning person either, I’m here to help you out! Today I’m sharing my everyday makeup routine that takes about ten minutes from start to finish. It’s a foolproof routine filled with my favorite products from Neutrogena, and it’s guaranteed to help you achieve a radiant complexion with minimal effort!
The Cast of Characters
For this look, you’ll need facial wipes, moisturizer, liquid foundation, setting powder, bronzer, blush, neutral eyeshadows, mascara, and lipgloss!
Prep Your Face
At night, I have the time and energy to thoroughly cleanse, exfoliate, tone, and moisturize my skin. I basically layer on every magical skincare potion I own and pray for the best. Unfortunately, that’s just not going to happen in the morning. Each morning, I wipe away excess dirt and oil from my face with the Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. Unlike other wipes, they’re made of naturally-derived fibers from sustainably-managed forests. The cleansing liquid on the wipes gently cleans my skin and doesn’t irritate my eyes. The final step in my morning skincare routine is to add a bit of extra moisture with the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel. Ladies, you need this moisturizer. It’s main active ingredient is hyaluronic acid, and your skin will drink it up in seconds. This moisturizer is unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. It absorbs into your skin instantly and leaves behind a smooth, supple, and nearly matte finish. It’s the ideal primer for your makeup routine because there is absolutely no greasy residue left behind!
Create A Blank Canvas
After prepping your skin, it’s time to even out your skin tone. I buff the Neutrogena Healthy Skin foundation in the shade Nude into my skin with a foundation brush and conceal under-eye circles with a concealer that’s two shades lighter than my natural skin tone. After blending out both products, I press the Neutrogena Shine Control powder into my T-Zone to control excess shine. The key is to look glowy- NOT oily.
Add Color to Your Complexion
Now that we’ve eliminated redness and concealed blemishes, it’s time to add a little bit of dimension back into the face! Use a large and fluffy brush to apply bronzer to your cheeks, forehead, jawline, and around the sides of your face. Use a smaller brush to apply a bright pink blush to the apples of your cheeks.
Brighten And Define Your Eyes
Applying eyeshadow is my favorite part of my makeup routine. I use theNourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow + Built in Primer in the shade Cocoa Mauve to create a neutral eye that’s absolutely beautiful.
Step 1: Apply the lightest shade in the palette to your browbone with a flat brush.
Step 2: Use a flat brush to apply the pale taupe color across your entire lid.
Step 3: Blend the darker taupe shade into your crease with a fluffy brush.
Step 4: Use the foam applicator that comes with the palette to apply the darkest shade to the outer corner of your eye.
Step 5: Use a fluffy brush to blend the edges of your eye look!
Add The Finishing Touches
To finish the look, simply apply 2-3 coats of your favorite mascara and lipgloss. I love using the Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara in Carbon Black and bright pink lipgloss!
I love that while this skincare and makeup routine only takes 10 minutes to complete, it creates a huge change in my appearance!
I buy all of my Neutrogena products at Target because they always have well-stocked displays and the lowest prices. Be sure to use the Cartwheel app to save money on your Neutrogena cosmetics and facial skin care purchases at Target!
What’s your morning beauty routine? Are you a morning person or a zombie like me?
You look gorgeous!! I’m a total zombie in the morning, but I won’t leave the house without makeup. I use Bare Minerals, MAC mascara, Naked palette eye shadow, MAC blush, fill in my eyebrows with Anastasia, and MAC lip gloss. Usually takes about 10 minutes.

I love how the foundation makes your skin look awesome! I need to learn to use a foundation brush!
Just beautiful! I’ve never thought of using two different cheek colors, or a bronzer. I just use the blush on my cheek bones, forehead and chin. I might have to adapt your technique. It’s certainly working for you. I also would like to try this eye shadow. Thanks for sharing!
I will need to try this! 🙂
That lip color is really, really pretty on you!
You are gorgeous! 🙂
I love your routine. I am not a morning person either. I like the way you brighten your eyes. Great look!
I don’t really wear a lot of makeup, mostly because I don’t have much, and with those I don’t really experiment. But I do have a daily routine for what I do for my skin. Every morning when I wake up, I start my shower, apply Julep’s Bare Face Cleansing Oil, hop in the shower and do my stuff, clean my face from the cleansing oil then do a quick wash with Biore’s Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser. Once I hop out and start with my other items, after applying Organix Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Penatrating Oil for my hair along with Garnier Fructis Style Damage Eraser Split-End Bandage Leave-In Treatment (I dye my hair and style it often, but it’s also pretty damaged because I’m growing it out after having it really short for a few years). After all that I then apply Julep’s Elixir Organic Argan Oil Moisturizer (for skin, hair, and nails) to my face, since my face dries out so badly in the winter from harsh winds. I use my my Deep Sea Cosmetics Nourishing Cuticle Oil before I leave the house for work.
Later in the night before bed, I’ll apply Julep’s Bare Face Cleansing Oil again and use a warm wash cloth to gently clean and exfoliate my skin. I top it all off right before bed with Julep’s Luxe Repair Skin Serum to help clear up some acne scars along my jaw line. All in all it’s a routine that I stick with every single day. I sometimes stray from it when I get too tired at the end of the day or in the morning when I wake up late. I love using the items that I have, and I would recommend that you try out Julep’s skin treatments, because of my routine, my face glows even in the morning when I look like a zombie.
Every person has their own routines, some may be with makeup and cleansers, and others are from each ends of the spectrum. Yours is a really nice balance, and might just have to try some of those out when I get the chance! Thanks for some really awesome posts!
I am a zombie person in the morning, i love the makeup look, i never check on Neutogena eyeshadow, i love the brown and the mauve color
