Rainy Day Necessities

While I grew up in Florida, I spent nearly four years in California and enjoyed every moment of the picture-perfect weather. I grew acclimated to 365 days a year of dry, sunshine-y weather, so when I returned to Florida, I was in for a big surprise. I’d somehow forgotten just how hot, humid, and rainy Florida can be. 

I didn’t remember that all of your shoes by water get ruined in the rainy summer (and late winter) months, and I completely forgot that you need to have an umbrella with you every single day just in case there’s an afternoon thunderstorm. While the rainy weather can be annoying at times, it keeps my hometown’s beautiful flora in tip-top condition. And this year, I’m not worried about the rain one bit because I’m outwitting the weather with the brilliantly British brand Joules!

Jeggings are obviously a cold-weather necessity, but this cozy striped sweater has already earned a spot on my most-worn clothing items list. I’ve worn this sweater at least a dozen times over the past two months because it literally feels like you’re wearing a blanket.

I bought it a little bit oversized on purpose, but I’m debating purchasing a second sweater in a smaller size for a more polished look. I love the slouchy look, but I honestly just want to be able to wear this sweater every single day. It might seem weird to have the same sweater in two sizes, but I’m telling you, this sweater is as soft as a teddy bear and as thick as a blanket. It’s just so comfy!

And of course, every rainy day outfit needs a pair of cute rain boots.
