OMG, can I join your BAND?
People may complain about millenials being continuously glued to their smartphones, but online communication has completely revolutionized how people connect. I think it’s absolutely amazing that I have the ability to stay in constant communication with my friends and family no matter how far apart we may be. Like most people my age, I have about 1,359 (exact-ish number) of group texts and group online chats going on at one time. While I love the idea of group chats, most of the apps just don’t deliver and end up being annoying. Group chats come and go after being hidden by a flood of new texts each morning, and I lose track of conversations forever. Thankfully, I’ve found a new app that you guys are going to love: BAND.
BAND is a group messaging app, but it’s different than the rest and way better in my opinion. Simply create a BAND with all of your friends in a particular group, and you can post and chat your little heart away. BAND offers quite a few more options than other social media networks or group messaging apps, so here’s a breakdown of some of my favorite features from the app.
Adorable & Functional Layout
I’m a girl, and I’ll admit that a lot of times I won’t use apps because I don’t like how they look. I said it. I am super judgmental of apps. BAND has a super cute layout and awesome emojis, which is totally essential to me. Again, I realize how shallow and silly these statements sound, but I’m sure that you all secretly agree. The graphics, emojis, and layout of BAND get an A+ from me!
Large Group Sizes
The app allows you create a BAND of 1-1000 people, so you can stay in touch with your friends from school, plan an event with work colleagues, or manage your entire sorority chapter in one easy group!
Unique Functions
- Options to create group polls, community calendars, and share photos and files with the group
- Accessible on smartphones and computers
- Privately share information and events
The BAND app’s functions make group communication and organization incredibly easy. So say you’re involved in a group project at school or work. To keep the group organized, simply create a BAND and invite your classmates to join. Now that the BAND is formed, you can upload photos, videos, gifts, and PDFS to share with the group. You can also create group calendar events to schedule meetings and add a group poll to make community decisions in addition to having a dialogue between members just like you would in a group text message. All of the information is conveniently organized, and the text/files/polls/events are privately shared only to the BAND’s members.
So why should I use BAND instead of other apps or services?
In my opinion, there are a lot of great apps out there for group communication. I’m constantly using Dropbox, iMessage, and Facebook Messenger; however, I love the BAND gives me the options of all three of these apps in one convenient space. I also like that my app isn’t overloaded with notifications, so I’m able to see all of the updates. If I’m using Facebook messenger or creating a Facebook group, 90% of the time the group’s notifications get lost in a sea of unimportant notifications about things I don’t care about. With BAND, all of my groups are easily accessible and never get lost. Plus, I don’t have to go back and forth between different apps to share files and create events. BAND already has 35 million+ users, so they’re obviously doing something right!
Seriously, it’s a really fun and useful app, so go download BAND immediately and let me know what you think!
What’s your favorite way to stay in touch with your different groups of friends?
