What A Peach: The Perfect Outfit to Wear to A Wedding
Even though I’m already married, I have to resist the temptation to pick up the latest wedding magazines each month. As a hopeless romantic and a habitual party planner, the gorgeous fashion, flowers, and decor of weddings draw me in every time! And yes, I still pin to my wedding Pinterest board. Even though I won’t be getting married again, I’m justifying my ongoing obsession with weddings as research for my friends’ future nuptials. Yep, it’s definitely justified behavior. Speaking of justified behavior, I recently picked up a few new spring fashion pieces for an upcoming event, and I received that all of my purchases would make the perfect outfit for a spring or summer wedding. All of the items in this look are extremely affordable, and you’re going to flip when you see the back of my adorable new bow heels!
When you’re looking for the perfect spring or summer wedding guest outfit, focus on classic and comfortable pieces. While it’s tempting to slip on a trendy ensemble, trust me…you will regret your decision when you see the photos from your friend’s wedding 20 years later. Stick to classic designs in simple colors, and you’re guaranteed to look beautiful on the day of the event and for posterity in your friend’s wedding album. Another key point is to wear items that will be comfortable all day long. Weddings are fun, but they’re also loooong. Wear soft fabrics, choose comfy shoes, and pack a sweater, and you’ll be a happy camper throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception!
I also prefer to stick to soft colors and conservative cuts when I attend a wedding. When you’re a guest at someone’s wedding, it’s not your time to shine. Of course it’s fine to look pretty, but please don’t wear white (unless it’s the dress code) or anything too flashy. You’ll want your fellow guests’ attention to be on the blushing bride and not on your neon pink sequin dress. This peach eyelet dress is one of the latest additions to my spring wardrobe, and I can already tell that it will be the ideal dress for spring and summer weddings. It’s simple without being boring, and I’m in love with the pastel peach shade.
As much as I love my dress, the real stars of the show are my white bow heels from Payless. I mean, just look at the back! Bows and rhinestones? Yes, please. They’re pretty enough for a bride, but they also look darling with a sundress. The heel is the perfect height for a few hours of dancing too!
