The Top 4 Beauty Trends for Spring 2015
I was that kid that read all of the beauty and fashion magazines each and every month. I would tear out my favorite features and create inspiration boards for the season. I would even videotape -yes, I used VHS tapes- the runway shows from New York Fashion Week when they were broadcast on TV. I was endlessly curious about beauty and fashion and dreaming of a glamorous career in the big city. Somehow, those dreams came true and now I get paid to spend way too much time on the internet tracking down what’s new in the beauty and fashion worlds. I’m not quite sure how I got so lucky! While it’s obviously important for me to find the best style products for my blog, I also need some serious technology to put together professional work. Today I’m sharing my four favorite beauty trends from the spring 2015 runways and showing just how I use my HP x360 to help my style visions become a reality on my blog!
Trend #1: Bold Lips
This season, designers traded in spring’s traditional pale pink lips for bold colors. Make a statement this season by pairing your spring outfits with a statement lip. While red and berry lips were all over the runways, fuchsia, magenta, and rosy shades are trending as well. If you’re looking for inspiration, check out Meghan Trainor’s new music video for her hit single “Lips Are Movin!” While you’re dancing along to her catchy lyrics, look out for the new HP x360 computer featured in fun and unexpected ways. HP partnered with to help the tour come to life in a new and exciting way for Meghan’s fans! Unlike other models, the x360 has four unique modes, so it’s perfect for busy ladies on the go. I like to use my HP x360’s laptop mode while I’m researching beauty trends for the blog. The stellar graphic display and speedy processing make editing images a breeze!
Trend #2: All About Those Nails
Over the past few years, I’ve become borderline obsessed with painting my nails. It’s gotten to the point where I want to change my mani nearly every day, so I was ecstatic when I discovered that nails were a focal point on the spring 2015 runways. Classic polish shades in nude, pale pink, and bright red were the queens of the runway, but designers also added pops of glitter and bright color into their signature manicure of the season. Whether I’m painting my nails for a new post or just to relax at the end of the day, I flip my HP x360 into tent mode. The x360’s hinges easily maneuver into the perfect position for watching YouTube videos. The sensitive touch screen allows me to pause and play the video as I like without creating any nail polish mishaps!
Trend #3: Flawless Skin
While each designer has their own preferences each season, nearly every single show on the spring 2015 runways featured models with flawless, glowing complexions. This spring, trade your thick, full-coverage foundations for moisturizing tinted moisturizers that will hide any blemishes without concealing your skin’s natural texture. You can also mix a small amount of your favorite moisturizer into your foundation to create a lighter and more natural finish. To create an airbrushed finish, apply the foundation in circular motions with a soft brush and set the look with a light dusting of powder to the areas where your face produces oil (forehead, chin, nose). For a blog post that’s coming soon, I wanted to copy the look from one of my favorite shows that featured glowing, healthy skin. The HP x360’s stand mode allows me to keep my keyboard out of the way while giving me full access to the touch screen. The stand mode is one of my favorites for watching videos online, and the hidden keyboard prevents any makeup or skincare products from accidentally dropping onto my laptop!
Trend #4: Champagne Eyes with Intense Black Liner
My go-to eye look has always been a quick application of shimmery champagne eyeshadow and a swipe of black eyeliner. I’m delighted to announce that this simple look was a hit on the spring runways. Most designers kept eyeshadow simple – neutral and champagne shades – while a select few also opted for bold pops of bright blue on the lids. Once your eyeshadow is complete, add a bad girl edge to the look with thick and dramatic black liner. For a polished but flirty look, use liquid black liner to create a sassy cat eye. If you’re hoping to achieve a sultry look, use a black kajal line to draw a thick line around your eyes and then smudge out the kohl with a fluffy brush. In seconds, you’ll have a sexy smoky eye! Each morning and throughout the day, I like to take mini-breaks from work to re-fuel my energy and find inspiration. I like to switch my HP x360 into tablet mode and search through social media while I get a dose of caffeine and a small snack. These small moments really allow me to refresh and keep me focused on my work throughout the day. Thanks to the HP x360’s ingenious design, I don’t need to have a laptop and a tablet for different activities. If I want to switch to the touch-screen tablet mode, I simply fold the HP x360 in half. It’s so simple, and the sleek design makes the software incredibly easy to use.
