why my life is awesome {february 2013}
It’s easy to lose perspective on your life when you’re in the middle of living it. I tend to gain a new outlook on my life when I’m taken out of my everyday routine. Since I have basically been sick for two and half weeks now (feeling a bit better thanks to my antibiotics!), I have definitely been off my normal schedule. I’m not going to say being sick was/is awesome (because it has/continues to completely suck), but it has allowed me to reflect on and appreciate how awesome my life really is.
Reason #1: I live in an incredible place.
Living in southern California is amazing. California in general is a beautiful state, and the LA area provides me with easy access to the beach and the mountains! My husband and I have been trying to explore the state while we’re here, and we recently headed up to Big Bear with our friend Clay. I was convinced by the boys to go skiing, and even though I didn’t really want to because I was feeling sick… I did in an effort to live up to my promise to say yes more this year.
Let’s just say I made the right decision.
The weather was PERFECT, and the mountains were absolutely gorgeous.
I whooped the boys on the slopes…or the bunny slope at least!
and I was reminded of how blessed I am to have the opportunity to live in such a beautiful area with so many opportunities!
Reason #2: I have the most amazing family and friends in the entire world.
While I completely love my current living situation in California, I miss my family and friends in Florida terribly. I am beyond blessed to maintain a close relationship with them through daily phone calls, FaceTime sessions, texting marathons, and social media! I am constantly blown away by the never-ending support and love I receive from my friends and family.
How many people get customized surprise Valentine’s Day packages from their best friends complete with Hello Kitty and not one but TWO Ring Pops? Stephanie obviously knows my heart’s desires.
In addition to my friends and family back home, I am constantly blown away by the kindness and generosity of the people I’ve met in LA as well. After being sick in bed for days, coming back to work to these completely custom-made cookies from one of my sweet ballet students was just what I needed!
I am a very blessed girl.
