Summer Vacation Beauty Essentials
Toiletries

Toiletries are definitely the most important things to pack for any vacation, so I pack these items first. Let’s be real- my friends and family aren’t going to want to hang out at the beach with me if I forget my deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, and razor! After I pack these must-have products, I add in a travel-sized package of Q-Tips Precision Tips for makeup mistakes, cotton rounds for my toner, and a small bottle of Advil in case I get a headache while traveling.
Hair Products
I’m fairly laid-back when it comes to summer hair. I use my trusty Suave Sea Mineral Infusion Shampoo and Conditioner to wash away the sand and salt without drying out my hair, and I’m currently trying out the Fekkai Soleil Apres Soleil Creme and Pre-Soleil Hair Mist to protect my hair from sun damage. The only other things I’ll bring are a few hair ties, my curling iron, and my favorite hairbrush of all time: the Wet Brush. If you constantly have to fight with your tangled hair, this brush will change your life! It detangles in seconds with minimal pulling even wet, knotted hair.
Skincare

Once my toiletries and hair products are packed away, I move on to skincare. I’m currently having a love affair with Neutrogena products, so I decided to pack the Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Foaming Scrub, Pore Refining Toner, Hydro Boost gel moisturizer, and makeup remover cleansing towelettes for my Key West trip. This combination of products has been keeping my skin breakout-free for the past month! My Sun Bum sunscreen in SPF 30 is without a doubt the most important item for summer travels. I love its traditional sunscreen scent, and the formula stays on all day – even through sweat and water exposure – without leaving you feeling greasy or sticky. It’s the best, and I’ve already converted my entire family into Sun Bums!
Beach Trip Makeup
While the rest of my travel items are fairly typical, the makeup section shows my true beauty hoarder mentality. I’m a makeup fanatic, so there’s no way I’m going on vacation without bringing an ample selection of makeup; however, I try not to go overboard for casual beach vacations. I always bring a foundation that contains SPF, mattifying powder, and a matte bronzer to keep my skin shine-free and protected from the sun. Instead of packing a variety of individual eyeshadows and blushes, I save space in my travel bag by choosing palettes instead. The L’Oreal Colour Riche La Palette 1 and ELF Blush Palette help me bring several different colors on my trip without cluttering my suitcase! To finish my travel makeup kit, I’ll add in an all-purpose concealer, waterproof mascara, moisturizing lipgloss, and brushes for my face and eyeshadow. I try to perfect my manicure and pedicure before I travel, but I always bring the nail polish I used in case I need to touch up chips. Essie’s Private Weekend and Saltwater Happy are my favorite nail shades for beach outings!
NYC Trip Makeup

After I get back from the Keys, my husband and I are trying to fit in a short trip to New York City for a weekend of shows, shopping, and walking around the city! While my toiletries, skincare, and hair care products tend to stay the same across vacations, my makeup always changes. Since this trip will involve more time at fancy events, I’m packing a few more products to up my makeup game! I’m packing a full-coverage foundation, bright pink blush, champagne highlight, and a new crème bronzer from Sonia Kashuk to create a perfectly covered and contoured complexion. I’ll also be bringing my favorite Sonia Kashuk matte eyeshadow palette, nude lipstick, and hot pink gloss. As I mentioned above, I always travel with the nail polish colors I’m currently wearing. For a NYC summer trip, I’m planning to wear Essie’s Peach Side Babe on my nails and Sunset Sneaks on my toes! No matter where I’m traveling, I always pick up the essentials at Target. Vacations are already expensive, so why add the extra expense of high-end products? These items are all fantastic, and I can’t wait to use them on my trip!
