My New Spring Routine
Is it just me, or do a little bit of sunshine and a good hair day instantly transform your mood? Ever since I had Summer in September, I’ve developed the bad habits of staying indoors for most of the day. While I love my home, there’s something so refreshing about getting out in the sunny weather – especially when there’s still a slight breeze in the spring air! I’ve been trying my best to go outdoors and enjoy the spring sunshine at least once a day, and I can’t even begin to tell you how much better it makes me feel. Who knew changing such a small habit could great such a big effect in my mood?
Whether I’m taking an afternoon stroll around our neighborhood with Summer or grabbing lunch with friends, the extra dose of sunshine always cheers me up. In addition to making more of an effort to go outside each day, I am also trying my best to spend a little bit of time getting completely dressed each day. Since I work from home with my baby girl, sometimes it seems silly for me to take time out of my morning to put on an outfit, style my hair, and put on makeup; however, I have noticed that when I do take the time to get ready, I am insanely more productive throughout the day.
I think it has something to do with intentionally starting the day on the right foot. When I move from my bed to my desk in the morning but stay in my leggings and messy bun, there isn’t much of an official start to the day. Getting up and getting dressed helps me wake up, think about everything I want to accomplish throughout the day, and it provides the bonus of helping me feel more confident. It’s just another small habit that creates a big effect on my mood!

If you want a quick intensive conditioning treatment, you might want to check out the Redken All Soft Mega Mask. The bottle features a dual-chamber design with two different formulas, and when you squeeze out the product, they combine to form the perfect deep conditioning treatment featuring an RCT Protein Complex to restore your hair’s softness, shine, and suppleness. After I was my hair, I lightly towel-dry it and apply a generous dollop of this product on my hair and allow it to sit for 3-5 minutes before rinsing it off. It’s a surprising product because the formula is so lightweight that it initially feels like it wouldn’t be very moisturizing, but it actually provides 15x more conditioning power.
During my first application, I was a little bit skeptical, but oh man- did my opinion ever change after rinsing this product out five minutes later! As I mentioned earlier, I love moisturizing hair care products, so naturally, I am always up to try a new deep-conditioning hair mask – especially when it also combats frizz. As someone who has tried dozens of hair masks in the past, I can safely say that the Redken All Soft Heavy Cream is exceptionally good for several reasons.
First of all, it has an ultra-moisturizing formula to deliver intense moisture to your hair, but it does not have the traditional thick and oily texture of most hair masks. It has the texture of a normal conditioner, but the ingredients provide way more moisture than a normal conditioner would provide. Due to this unique texture, it rinses out like a dream, so you won’t have those annoying clumps of undissolved hair mask at the bottom of your shower. Secondly, I have truly been impressed with this mask’s ability to reduce the amount of frizz in my hair. When you live in an ultra-humid environment, frizzy hair is basically inescapable, but this mask really does lessen the appearance of frizz and flyaways!
I apply this mask similarly to the Mega Mask. I wash my hair, lightly towel dry my hair, apply the hair mask, and allow it to work its magic for five to fifteen minutes while I finish shaving my legs and washing my body.
