I grew up in a Coca-Cola household. My grandfather worked for Minute Maid/Coca-Cola his entire life and would routinely check our refrigerator and pantry for non-Coca Cola soda products when he came over to visit. Seriously, I am not kidding. You can imagine that I naturally developed a strong appreciation for Coca-Cola products early on – especially Diet Coke. Well, imagine my surprise when I bump into the cutest, kindest, funniest boy I’ve ever met junior year of high school who’s just as much of a Diet Coke addict. Naturally, we fell in love and got married. In fact, my thoughtful husband even had two chilled Diet Coke bottles on ice waiting for us in our hotel room after our wedding. With our third anniversary approaching in only a week, I’ve been looking around for present ideas and trying to plan a fun week of mini-adventures to celebrate our marriage. When I saw the Share a Coke campaign, where Coca-Cola created bottles with the top names of millenials, I knew that it would be the perfect little surprise for our anniversary week.
Yep, I know. I married a dreamboat.
While my husband and I love each other deeply, we’re not really traditionally romantic. Our version of romance is more playful and filled with humor and heart. That makes anniversary presents/celebrations a little bit tricky because candlelight dinners and boxes of chocolates are not really our thing. As I was searching for the perfect anniversary present at Walmart, I saw the new Coca-Cola bottles with names in the coolers near the checkout aisle. I knew that my husband had a little outing planned for us later in the day, so I thought I’d surprise him by sharing personalized Diet Coke bottles with our names.
The style blogger in me just couldn’t resist adding a few flowers to create a fancy display, but I knew my husband would be just as excited as I was to finally have a Diet Coke bottle with his name on it. Just as I thought, my husband Ryan couldn’t stop smiling. With our Diet Coke bottles in hand, we headed up to Wekiva State Park for a kayaking day trip down the Wekiva River.
The scenery was gorgeous and filled with Florida wildlife. It was such a fun day trip, and we couldn’t have had a better start to our anniversary week of adventures.
You can find the Coca-Cola bottles with names in the checkout aisles at Walmart in the refrigerated coolers. If you’re looking for a small way to celebrate an anniversary or birthday or just want to put a smile on a loved ones face, considering sharing a coke! With Coca-Cola’s new campaign where they feature names on the Coke bottles, you can give a personalized gift that shows that you care. Sharing a coke is an easy to pay it forward and help cheer up a family member, friend, or co-worker.
On July 6th, Walmart stores will be holding Share a Coke Events at select stores where you’ll be able to bring your families and friends to share a Coke! I’m thinking of bringing my grandmother. I know she’d love to celebrate her husband’s dedication to Coca-Cola at the event. If you’d like to attend, you can view the schedule and participating stores for the Share a Coke Event here. If you attend, don’t forget to tag me and use the hashtag #ShareItForward, so that I can see your #ShareACoke experience!
