My Favorite Back to School Outfit {Under $100 Total!}
I love the back to school season. I may not be a student anymore, but I still view the end of August as a fresh start and a chance to refocus on my goals for the year. If I’m being honest, I also use it as an excuse to justify a little shopping spree. This week, I picked up a pretty new planner, pens in every color, a few shiny binders, and an adorable outfit from Sears that is perfect for the end of summer/early fall. Whether you’re headed to school this week or just completely another week at the office, I think you’ll want to pick up this outfit! It’s versatile, comfortable, and outrageously affordable.
I paired a slightly sheer cream lace top from the Seventeen collection at Sears (nude camisole underneath) with cushioned light brown flats, my new favorite floral skirt, a brown leather backpack, and simple gold jewelry for a girly look that’s comfortable enough to wear throughout a day of classes, work, or errands.
This Paper + Tee skirt from Sears couldn’t be more adorable, and the muted floral print adds color to the outfit without being overwhelming. The fitted waist of the skirt helps create an hourglass figure, and the loose fit hides any problem areas without making your hips look bigger. I fully intend on buying this skirt in every color/pattern available at Sears, and I won’t have to feel guilty because it only costs $19.99! I’d also highly recommended picking up these brown flats. The soles have gel cushioning, and it feels like you’re walking around in slippers! I might have to pick these up in black for fall!
I don’t like wearing too much jewelry when I’m at school or work, so I kept the look simple with a gold cuff and Love script necklace from the Seventeen collection at Sears. After rummaging through my nail polish collection, I decided to pair this look with Essie’s Bikini So Teeny nail polish. The light cornflower blue polish perfectly accents the pastel floral design of the skirt! I finished the look with loose waves, a little bit of mascara, and nude lip gloss.
Every back to school look has to include a great backpack, and I’ve found one that is perfect for school or travel. This brown faux leather backpack from the Bongo collection at Sears features incredibly soft material and a modern look without being too expensive. I like to use backpacks for overnight trips, and I also use them as a carry-on bag for flights.
Even though I won’t be hearing any school bells this week or worrying about homework, this outfit might be my favorite back to school look of all time! It’s comfortable, flattering, and I was able to pick up all of the items featured for less than $100 total during my latest trip to Sears!
