Live Radiantly with St. Ives Refresh & Revive
In the classic novel The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald writes that “life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” I’ve always found this quote to be particularly accurate in my life. My birthday is in October, so I find myself examining my life and making major changes to my lifestyle at the beginning of autumn each year. This year’s lengthy list of goals could fill up an entire notebook, but the overall theme of the year is to continue to try and live an authentic and meaningful life. I want to soak up every moment with my family and friends and spend more time helping others than I spend helping myself. I want to worry less about the approval of others and more about making my loved ones smile. I want to work towards achieving my personal and professional goals without sacrificing my well-being or my time at home. I want to volunteer more, give more, and be more. I want to live a radiant life filled with hope, positivity, kindness, and love. I realize that I sound like a cheesy greeting card or an inspirational quote on Pinterest, but I really feel that this coming year is the time for me to make big changes in my life. So how do you start working towards such a lofty life goal? One step at a time.
One of the first small steps I’ve taken is to streamline my schedule. I know that I’m not my true self when I’m over-worked and under-inspired, so I’ve been focusing on saying no to things that don’t spark passion and yes to anything that makes me feel like my true self. I’ve turned down professional opportunities that weren’t a perfect fit and outsourced work tasks that don’t require my personal attention, so that I have more time to spend with family and attend events that spark my creativity! A few weeks ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend Park Avenue Fashion Week in Winter Park, and it was truly inspiring to see so much creative energy in my local community. My favorite runway show of the night was Forema Boutique‘s because every second of their presentation was 100% authentic and on-brand. You could tell that the Forema girls had poured their heart and soul into the show, and their creativity and positive vibes definitely helped them stand out! I was honored to wear this blush lace dress from Forema at the runway show because their presentation was the perfect representation of living radiantly. Every woman in their show seemed happy and confident in their own skin. It was wonderful to see girls strutting their stuff on the runway not just to impress the crowd but because they were genuinely having the time of their lives! While I was only at the fashion show for a few hours, I was filled with inspiration and creative ideas for days!
