Outfit Round-Up + How to Find The Perfect Pair
Whenever I’m on set with a stylist, I always try to watch how they work. I’m always searching for the behind-the-scenes tips and tricks that make their outfits look so much better than mine. One of the first on-set styling tips I learned was the importance of wearing the proper undergarments. What you wear underneath your outfit can be just as important as the outfit itself. I know the concept may seem silly, but I promise you – it’s the truth. Your underwear is basically an accessory to your outfit that no one sees. The correct pair will ensure that you look your best, and the wrong pair will cause embarrassing wardrobe mishaps. I can tell you from experience that a VPL (visible panty line) can ruin an outfit and attract the wrong kind of attention. Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite undergarments to wear with different types of outfits.

I speak from experience when I say that you need to wear full-coverage undergarments when you’re wearing a skirt. I’ve learned this fact the hard way after flashing at least a dozen different people on blog shoots. If you’re wearing a skirt, the wind will blow, and your butt will be displayed to the world if you’re not careful. When I’m wearing a loose skirt, I like to stick to . If you’re wearing leggings, jeggings, or very tight pants, I’d suggest wearing a thong. There’s nothing more embarrassing than having someone point out your VPL, so it’s best to avoid the situation altogether. I find lace-waisted thongs to be the most comfortable variety, but flat-seam underwear works well too!

And now comes the hardest type of outfit: a super-stretchy, incredibly tight dress/skirt. When your outfit clings to every inch of your skin, it’s hard to hide your undergarments. I always choose flat-seam underwear for this type of look. They provide coverage without a detectable seam, so your outfit can shine.
