3 Easy Holiday Party Makeup Tutorials
Today’s post is sponsored by Target.
Holiday party season has officially begun. Whether you’re hosting or attending a holiday soirée over the next few months, you’ll want to look your best without spending hours at the salon. Today I’m sharing three beauty equations that will help you transform your daytime makeup into a chic and party-ready look with minimal effort. All three looks feature affordable makeup from Target and are easy to re-create.
Champagne Eyes + Red Lips + Black Eyeliner = Holiday Chic
If you’re headed to a fancy Christmas fête, this classic holiday look is your best bet. With three easy steps, you can transform into a modern-day Marilyn Monroe. The shimmery champagne eye shadow combines with winged black liner to make your eyes pop, and a bright red lip brings a bold dose of color to help your complexion shine.
Step One: Use a the flat eye brush to apply a shimmery champagne eye shadow like the lightest shade from the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Plum Quartz across your entire eyelid.
Step Two: Apply a liquid black eyeliner such as the CoverGirl Intensify Me Eye Liner across your upper lash line. Focus on creating a thin line at the inner corner and gradually thicken as you approach the outer corner. For a more dramatic look, wing the liner past the end of your natural lash line.
Step Three: To finish this glamorous makeup look, brighten your lips with a bold red lipstick. If you’re looking for a fabulous lipstick from Target, try the Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color in Classic Red.
Purple Eyes + Berry Lips + Waves = Classy & Colorful
This season, try adding color into your holiday makeup routine. This soft and smoky purple eye shadow pairs perfectly with a muted berry lip. Your finished look will add color to your complexion without looking over-the-top. I think this purple and berry-toned makeup looks beautiful with soft waves in your hair for a relaxed holiday evening with friends.
Step One: To create a soft purple eye, use a fluffy eye brush to blend a warm, mid-toned purple eye shadow from the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude 2 (second from the right) into the crease of your eyelid. Once your first layer of purple is perfectly blended, define the outer corner of your eyelid with a deep eggplant eye shadow (first on the right) from the same palette.
Step Two: If you’d like a bold berry lip, simply apply the Sonia Kashuk Lustrous Shine Lip Crayon in Orchid like a normal lipstick. In this particular look, I wanted to achieve a softer lip shade. I simply dotted this berry shade over my lips and used my finger to blend the color. Then I applied a light coat of sheer lip balm to add shine without diluting the berry color.
Step Three: This colorful makeup look is soft and romantic, so I think that soft waves are the ideal finishing touch. To get beautiful waves, curl your hair with a 1.5” curling iron and run your fingers through your hair to loosen the curl.
Golden Eyes + Pink Lips + Topknot = Naturally Festive
If you prefer a more natural look, you’ll love this beauty equation. Simply combine pale gold eye shadow, satin pink lips, and a quick topknot to look bright and radiant this holiday season. While this look features muted colors, the final product will still allow you to stand out from the crowd.
Step One: Give your lids a natural glow by applying a metallic pale gold eye shadow across your entire lid. I used the pale gold in the Wet n Wild Color Icon Eye Shadow Collection in Comfort Zone from Target.
Step Two: Next, enhance your lips with a pale pink lipstick like Rimmel London’s lipstick in Airy Fairy.
Step Three: To finish this beautiful winter look, tie your hair up in a top knot. Simply bring your hair into a high ponytail, twist your hair, and wrap the twisted hair around the base of your ponytail. As your hair twists into the ideal topknot, secure the shape with bobby pins. Before you head off to a party, spritz hairspray around your hairline to smooth flyaway hairs.
In addition to the products mentioned, I used the limited-edition Sonia Kashuk Facet-nating Brush Set from Target for all of the looks in today’s post. The cream bristles and gorgeous black and gold handles will give your vanity a glamorous holiday makeover, and this gift set is the perfect present for any beauty lovers in your family. I took the photos for today’s post before using the brushes because I knew the pale bristles wouldn’t look as pretty once they got dirty, but you can expect to see this set in many makeup tutorials over the next year! While all of the brushes in this set are good, I especially love the fluffy powder brush. It distributes powder foundation and bronzer flawlessly, and the bristles are so soft! I’ll be washing the brushes tonight, so I’ll keep you posted on how they keep their shape.
No matter which beauty equation you choose, you’re guaranteed to look beautiful at any holiday event. Affordable makeup from Target + a dose of creativity + your fabulous smile = a winning combination for the holiday season.
