A New Take on Natural Beauty
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Burt’s Bees. All opinions are 100% mine.
Today I’m sharing one of my favorite natural beauty looks from Burt’s Bees.
New Year, New Beginnings, Natural Beauty
I’ve always seen January as a new beginning. It’s a time when I try to slow down after the rush and chaos of the holidays and refocus on what matters. I’ve been taking a much needed break from social media and getting into a new – and healthier – schedule for the new year. I’ve been sleeping more, catching up on my physical and mental health appointments, and purposely choosing to spend time with loved ones over working or wasting time on social media.
It’s been a huge change from my normal schedule that’s packed-to-the-brim with obligations and appointments, and I have to say, it’s just what I needed. I’m finally feeling like myself again, and I don’t want to lose that feeling. If you’re interested, I’m happy to write a full post on how I’m re-prioritizing my life, but today, I thought I’d share one girly find that’s helped me feel like the best version of myself.
Obviously, I’m a huge fan of makeup. The fun colors make me smile, and the application process itself is extremely relaxing to me. With that being said, in December, I started noticing that I was piling more and more beauty products on each day just to feel like a normal person. I was exhausted and running on fumes, and the stress showed on my face. My under eye circles were a horrific shade of blue-purple, and the amount of wrinkles on my face seemed to double overnight. No matter how much makeup I applied, I just looked tired.
Now that I’m finally getting the right amount of sleep and monitoring my diet, physical health, and stress levels, I am amazed at my skin has transformed. When I wake up in the morning, I look like myself – not someone who could pass as an extra in a zombie movie. Now that skin is behaving, my angry under eye circles are retreating, and my wrinkles are going back to their normal state, I’ve been drawn to natural makeup products that enhance my face instead of hiding it.
One of my best natural beauty finds has been the new Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oils. You guys know that I’m a die-hard fan of Burt’s Bees products, and this new release doesn’t disappoint. I grabbed the full range of six colors that’s available at Target, and they’ve been the perfect addition to my natural beauty look throughout the last month. If you’re a fan of popsicle-stained lips but prefer to have moisturized and glossy lips, this product is right up your alley. I’ve been such a fan of this product that I thought I’d swatch the entire collection on my lips, so that you can get a better idea of how they look on different skin tones and lip shades.
Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oil Swatches
Caramel Cloud
If you’re a fan of glossy nude lips, you’ll love the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oil in Caramel Cloud. This sheer nude shade is slightly lighter than my natural lip color, and it adds a subtle shine and a hefty dose of moisture to my lips. If you want a non-sticky lip gloss to make your lips appear slightly lighter without being too nude, this shade is a good fit for you. You can also dab a bit of this gloss over your favorite lipstick in the center of your lips to create the illusion of a fuller pout.
Showering Sunset
The Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oil in Showering Sunset is probably my most-worn shade out of the entire collection. It’s a pale nude pink that enhances your lips natural lip color, and it’s a great shade for work or school. Like all of the lip oils in this collection, it adds a natural shine to your lips without adding a sticky residue.
Whispering Orchid
Whispering Orchid is another pink shade from the range that’s slightly more deeper and more cool-toned. It looks fabulous on its own, or you can layer it over your favorite lipstick to amp up the shine and add a little bit of bubble gum pink color.
Crimson Breeze
Crimson Breeze is an orange-toned red that gives your lips a sheer wash of healthy color. It’s an extremely subtle take on the cherry popsicle-stained lips that everyone loves that’s totally daytime appropriate – even if you’re not a fan of bright colors.
Rustling Rose
The Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oil in Rustling Rose is a sheer brown-toned red that’s the perfect your lips but better shade. I think this natural rose lip oil would look beautiful on all skin tones.
Misted Plum
Misted Plum is the darkest shade in the collection, and it gives your lips a natural wash of sheer berry color. While the color of the packaging might be intimidating, don’t be scared. This lip oil is actually very natural on your lips.
If you’re looking for a moisturizing product that will give your lips a sheer wash of color and a healthy shine, I think you’ll love the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oils Available at Target. All six shades would work with any skin tone, and every color is daytime appropriate. Unlike your traditional lip gloss, these lip oils are dispensed into a brush tip that allows you to work the color into your lips for a natural finish. You can click the dial to adjust how much product you’re dispensing, so you can have control on how much product and color goes on your lips during each application. If you’d like to see these colors on a different skin tone, check out Stephanie’s post on the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oils.
While I still love my traditional lipstick, I love these tinted lip oils for days when I’m going for a natural look. They help my lips look and feel better without making me look like a different person, and I love that they give a natural shine without being high-maintenance like sticky lip glosses. If you’re embracing the natural beauty look this season too, I’d love for you to check out these lip oils and let me know what you think. Leave a comment below with your favorite natural beauty product, and I will pick it up next time I’m at the store!
