The Golden Hour Glow: Naturally Glowy Makeup Tutorial

 Photographers call the hour before sunset the “golden hour” because the sun is at the perfect location to provide lighting that’s universally flattering. The light hits your face at just the right angle, and your skin looks like it’s lit from within. Recreating the golden-hour glow is my latest makeup addiction. I’ve been searching for the perfect combination of illuminating foundation, glowy setting sprays, and shimmering highlighters to give my skin a heavenly glow even when I wake up looking like I haven’t slept for a week. While I haven’t perfected my technique yet, I’ve been loving the products that I’ve discovered all the way. Since I’ve been focusing on creating perfectly lit skin, I’ve been gravitating toward more natural eye makeup. The is still a favorite, and I’ve been choosing the over my normal black. For this look, I also used to achieve natural eyelashes with the tiniest hint of navy blue. This mascara is a lot more natural than my normal choice, but it’s a great change to keep the look light and fresh.

Creating the perfect lip is my favorite part of any makeup routine, and I love using a natural nude combination for this natural makeup look. The is a satin-finish lip balm with tons of pigment, and it’s a great nude lip on its own; however, a coat of the Pixi LipLift Max in Petal Ice really sets it over the top. Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t resist a glossy lip. This lip gloss is pillowy soft and has a gentle peppermint scent that makes me want to apply it every three seconds! These two lip products are definitely purse-worthy.
