Everyday Glam Makeup Tutorial
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sally Beauty for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
Can we all agree that fall is the best season? Between the perfect weather, spirited football games, festive pumpkin patches, and comfortable fashion trends, the fall season has something to make everyone smile. While my favorite parts of the autumn season are pumpkin spice lattes and apple cider donuts, fall makeup has to come in at a close second. Neutral makeup is my go-to look, so I’m always eager to experiment with the darker neutral hues that trend in the fall. Sally Beauty recently invited me to test out a few products from the New Neutral color story of their Fall Color Sale Under $10, and today I’m excited to share my top three items from the sale with you along with an everyday glam makeup tutorial.
Sally Beauty’s Fall Fall Color Sale Under $10 features hair color, hair care, nails and cosmetics, but I think we all know which section I went to first. I’m a makeup addict through and through, and the neutral shades were calling my name. My favorite three products from the sale have got to the Palladio Silk FX All-In-One Herbal Eyeshadow palette in Rendez-Vous, Real Colors Stay Glowing Long Wear-Highlighter, and the Palladio Pop Shine Brilliant Lip Balm in Get Real. All three products fit perfectly into my fall makeup routine.
Easy Neutral Makeup Tutorial
After applying your favorite foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer, and blush, it’s time to get to the very best part of any makeup routine: highlighter. While I don’t want an over-the-top glow everyday, I still like my highlighter to have the capacity to be seen from the heavens. The Real Colors Stay Glowing Long Wear-Highlighter is the best of the both worlds. You can apply it with a light hand for a subtle glow, or you can layer it over a cream base for a stunning gold-toned highlight.
Since today’s look features a dramatic eye, I didn’t go too crazy; however, this highlighter is giving me all the heart eyes. It’s soft, smooth, and pigmented, and the color looks amazing with basically any makeup look. It obviously looks great on your cheeks, nose, and cupid’s bow, but I also really like using it as an eye shadow or inner corner highlight.
After adding my highlight, I wanted to create a bronze smoky eye. The Palladio Silk FX All-In-One Herbal Eyeshadow palette in Rendez-Vous had the perfect mix of colors for the fall eye look I’d envisioned.
Top five swatches are from the Palladio Silk FX All-In-One Herbal Eyeshadow palette in Rendez-Vous, and the bottom swatch is the Real Colors Stay Glowing Long Wear-Highlighter.
I’m not always the biggest fan of affordable eyeshadow palettes, but some of the colors in this palette blew me away. I’ve been using the metallic bronze and matte mid-toned brown every day since I bought this palette, but all of these eyeshadows just work so well together. The lightest shade is basically the color of my skin, so it doesn’t have a great effect on me; however, the other four shades are incredibly easy to work with.
Step 1: For today’s eye makeup, I applied the matte mid-tone brown shade in my crease and on the top and outer corner of my lid with a fluffy blending brush.
Step Two: Then, I added a pale brown cream eyeshadow all over my lid to create a sticky base.
Step Three: And now we move onto my favorite part of the look. I used a flat eyeshadow brush to pack the metallic bronze shade all over my lid.
Step Four: As a finishing touch, I used a dense smudger brush to run the deepest matte brown eyeshadow along my lashline and into the outer corner of my eye.
While this eyeshadow looks great on its own, I couldn’t resist adding winged eyeliner and my trusty false lashes.
For my lips, I wanted a nude color that wouldn’t compete with my bronze smoky eye, and the Palladio Pop Shine Brilliant Lip Balm in Get Real worked perfectly.
This cool-toned nude lip crayon has a balm-like texture creates a natural matte finish without drying out your lips. It’s definitely a “your lips but better” type of product that’s great to keep in your purse.
