5 Fun Ideas for Your Next Girls’ Night In
Thankfully my best friend and cousin, Michelle (you may know her as Mash Elle) recently came back to Orlando after a long trip to Canada, and I literally begged her to come hang out before her plane even landed! After the BEST girls’ night in with Michelle (think comfy clothes, AMAZING ice cream, and Grey’s Anatomy marathon), I’m completely refreshed and ready to jump back into the work week! If you’re in need of quality time with your friends, I’m sharing five ideas for fun and affordable a girls’ night in at your home plus a new ice cream from Magnum that is gonna knock your socks off!
5 Fun Ideas for Your Next Girls’ Night In:
1. Ice Cream Social with Magnum + TV Binge-A-Thon
In my circle of friends, all social events must include food. It’s more a matter of what we’re eating versus if we’re eating, and more often than not, ice cream ends up being involved in our plans. If you’re planning a get together with your best friends, stock up on a variety of indulgent ice cream flavors before they come over for a night of your favorite TV show. If your friends are anything like mine, you’ll want to opt for premium ice cream tubs because #treatyoself philosophy rules on girls night! Before Michelle came over yesterday, I headed to my local Walmart and picked up four of the new Magnum ice cream tubs. A girl’s gotta have choices, right? If you’re looking for the best ice cream for your girls’ night, look no further. Honestly, Magnum knocked it of the park with their new tubs Each tub of ice cream is wrapped in a cracking chocolate shell, so every bite has the perfect ratio of rich chocolate shards to velvety ice cream! Plus, it is SO incredibly satisfying to crack the chocolate shell with a spoon before taking the first bite! Click here to get $2 back from any Magnum ice cream tub at Walmart.
I immediately grabbed the milk chocolate vanilla and dark chocolate raspberry ice cream, and Michelle claimed the tubs of white chocolate vanilla and milk chocolate hazelnut. All four flavors are de-e-licious and were perfect for our Grey’s Anatomy binge-a-thon. No matter what your favorite TV show may be, I highly recommend the ice cream and TV combination. It’s the perfect way to kick back, relax, and indulge all at the same time. Plus, I needed Michelle’s opinion on the latest Jolex situation. I CANNOT be the only person who secretly hoped Meredith would end up with Alex, right?
It was so convenient for me to grab the new Magnum ice cream tubs at Walmart because I already needed to go there to buy Easter party supplies, but you can also order online with Walmart’s Grocery Pick-Up and simply swing by the store to pick up your completed order. I’m not sure why I didn’t know about this incredibly convenient service before, but I’m going to be doing almost all of my grocery shopping this way from now on. I mean, how much easier is it to have your entire grocery list already packed up and ready to go into your car instead of waltzing around a store for an hour with an infant? Plus, I saw that they can even deliver to my home for a small fee. Girls night or not, let’s just say I’m a HUGE fan of this grocery pick-up service!
2. Favorite Things Party
Have you ever seen Oprah’s Favorite Things episode? Well, this girls’ night idea is exactly that! A fun event where each person brings a bag of one of their favorite things to share with the group. You can catch up with your friends, have a good laugh, and everyone goes home with a bag of awesome stuff! If you want to make this type of event more affordable, each person can just bring one of their favorite thing, so everyone goes home with one new item. No matter how you structure this event, you are going to have a great time! Plus, you could do endless versions of this event. I’m thinking favorite food party, favorite cookie party, favorite ice cream party, favorite makeup party, favorite lipstick party…of course, all of my ideas have to do with food and makeup haha!
3. Make Your Own Pizzas
What can I say? I like parties that involve food! Don’t let the name fool you. Any type of customizable food party is fun for friends! Whatever food you choose, load up on LOTS of options, so that your friends can create their own masterpiece. Make your own pizzas are always a good idea, but a mega ice cream sundae bar would also be incredible. No matter which customizable food you choose, don’t forget to have an award for the best and worst creations!4. Closet Swap
Ok, other than the ice cream and tv marathon option, a closet swap might be my favorite idea for a girls’ night in. Let’s be honest, the first thing you do when you go over to your best friend’s house is check out their closet and drawers. At least, that’s what Stephanie (aka Diary of A Debutante) have always done haha! This girls night idea solves two problems. 1. You can go shopping for free. 2. You can get rid of stuff that you don’t want. The idea is simple. Bring over a bag of 10 things (or whatever number your group decides on) that you no longer want or need and set them up at a friend’s house. Everyone gets to go home with 10 new things! I know that I always feel like I have nothing to wear, but my friends always manage to find something that they like when they come over. This fun girls night idea will help you refresh your closet without emptying your bank account.5. Ultra-Luxe Movie Marathon
As much as I love going to see movies at the theater, sometimes it’s nice to skip the crowds and the overpriced tickets. Grab your best friends and plan your dream movie night at home! Set out a concession stand with all of your favorite snacks (popcorn, candy, soda, pizza, ice cream – you name it) and have comfy pillows and cozy blankets for each person in attendance. The best part about at-home movie nights is that you make the rules. You can stop the movie to have intermissions, sing your favorite songs from a movie musical, or rewind your favorite scenes over and over. If you need a few movie ideas for girls’ night, Mean Girls, The Notebook, Stepbrothers, Grease (or any musical really), Mrs. Doubtfire, Pretty Woman, She’s Got Mail, and 80s and 90s kids’ movies are always at the top of my list! While I may not be able to have weekly sleepovers with my best friends like the good old days, I am making girls’ nights a priority this year. Even a few hours laughing with friends can do wonders for your mood. Oh, and a tub of ice cream never hurt either haha! Be sure to check out the new Magnum tubs in the freezer display on the end of the ice cream aisle at your local Walmart or use Walmart’s Grocery Pick-Up to pick up these girls’ night in must-haves on your way to your next event. Don’t forget to use this $2 off rebate to get this fabulous ice cream for less!
