Classy Holiday Party Outfit
My brain is in full holiday prep mode, which means I’m constantly daydreaming about holiday tablescapes, cookie recipes, and Christmas gift ideas. Whenever I get a few spare minutes, I can’t resist adding festive decor to our home, and I’ll admit that I’ve already begun my annual Christmas movie marathon. I just can’t help myself. I’ve been bit by the holiday bug.
In addition to hoarding gift wrap and collecting Christmas cookie recipes, I’ve also been planning for holiday parties. Every year, holiday party invites seem to pop out of nowhere, and I never have enough time to put together a proper outfit or find a cute hostess gift. This year, I’m determined to be prepared, so I’ve already ordered several classy holiday party outfits as well as a few easy hostess gifts. I’ll be sharing the hostess gift ideas later this week, but today I’m happy to debut my first holiday party outfit idea!
The second that I saw this , I knew it had to be my Christmas dress. The lace detailing, scalloped hemline, and feminine fit-and-flair silhouette are timelessly elegant, and I’m so excited to wear it throughout the holiday season. I also picked up the after months of debating, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with my purchase. The burgundy velvet looks so feminine, and I’ve already paired these comfortable pumps with jeans, a skirt and sweater, and this fabulous dress.
Another thing that I’ve been debating for months is coloring my hair. Long story short, I haven’t colored my hair in nearly three years after a horrendous incident in the spa. While I’m happy that my hair is healthier than ever, I have to admit that I’ve grown extremely bored with my natural color. I’ve been debating whether I should just leave it alone, or if I should tip-toe back into the world of color. Thankfully, a quick trip to Hair Cuttery solved this hair conundrum!
I told my stylist that I wanted a subtle color change to bring life into my boring ash blonde hair, but I didn’t want to commit to highlights or permanent color. She recommended the Redken Shades EQ gloss, which adds shine and a subtle tint of color to your hair that lasts about two months. After consulting with my stylist, I decided to opt for the the Redken Gloss It Up Package, which includes a shampoo, customized Redken treatment (I chose the Chemistry anti-frizz treatment), a single application of the Redken Shades EQ gloss, cut, and blow-dry.
My Hair Cuttery stylist recommended a warm golden tint to liven up my natural ash blonde color, and I’m thrilled with the finished effect. It was exactly what I wanted. The golden tint adds a subtle dimension and depth to my hair, so I don’t have the urge to run and highlight my hair. Plus, the demi-permanent color will wash away in a few months, and I can play with another color!
My hair felt soft and smooth after my treatment, so I asked my stylist to add in a few curls. I loved the look so much that I just had to give my holiday party look a test run. The curls were the perfect finishing touch to this classic outfit!
I decided to add in my , a andfrom Baublebar, and a to complete this glamorous look. I couldn’t be more thrilled with this classically glamorous holiday party outfit, and I know that it will look fabulous in holiday photos too.
