Classy Fall Outfit Idea
I have so many items in my closet that only be worn with one or two outfits. There are only so many ways to style a sequin dress, and glitter pumps aren’t really appropriate for 99% of my daily activities. Unfortunately, these impractical statement pieces are what I’m normally drawn to. If there is a fluffy skirt, sparkly tiara, or fluorescent pink lipstick in the building, my ballerina senses will detect it instantly. This year, I’ve been making a concentrated effort to control my girly instincts and take a more practical approach to shopping. Today’s outfit is the perfect example of how I’m balancing my penchant for feminine fashion items and my desire to build a functional fall wardrobe. I’m embracing basic pieces in classic silhouettes; however, the look is still filled with fun colors, girly bows, and lots of sparkle!
This is one the staple pieces in my fall wardrobe. I’ve always loved off-the-shoulder tops, and the cut of this sweater shows just the right amount of your shoulders and collarbones. This lightweight sweater is soft and stretchy, and it looks great with everything from jeans and riding boots to a pencil skirt and a blazer. I originally thought that I’d want to pair with my new grey skinny jeans, but as soon as I saw this , I knew that it would be a match made in heaven. I’m a Pepperdine alumni, and I just couldn’t resist this sophisticated version of my alma mater’s signature colors.
