blogmas {day 1}:november favorites!
So today marks the start of BLOGMAS, where I’ll be putting up at least one new blog post each day until the end of the year! I have lots of fun surprises in store for you lovely ladies, so get excited! Let me know if there are any particular types of posts you’d like to see! Later tonight I’ll be posting my etsy/small business holiday gift guide (+ a REALLY awesome giveaway)!
And now on to my November Favorites!
Christmas Decorations in General: To say I love the Christmas season is the understatement of the century. Christmas is basically a wonderful combination of every single thing I love in this world- spending time with my family and friends, eating unhealthy and delicious food, endless shopping trips, fun music, beautiful weather, acting like a little kid, and decorating. Coming from a long line fabulous southern belles, I have been bred to decorate every single inch of everything for Christmas. It’s never enough. I love coordinating the gift wrap with the ornaments with the home decor, and I could just go on and on. I am so excited to use our new “N” for Nicholas ornaments that I picked up last year for 90% off – I forgot to mention my love of post-Christmas sales.
The only thing missing from my holiday decorations is one of ridiculously adorable . Unfortunately our tiny, shoebox apartment literally does not have a single inch of room to hang one up, but you better believe that I’ll be picking 1, 2, or 5 the second that we move. I actually look at them so often and sulk about not having room for one that I might just need to buy a few as presents!
Statement Necklaces and Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer: I am not afraid of loud prints and bright colors in my clothing, but I’ve always stayed on the classic/simple side of the jewelry spectrum. This season is a bit different. It seems like I can’t get enough big statement pieces in bright colors. I blame JCrew ads and Instagram! I recently did quite a big Charlotte Russe jewelry haul. I picked up a few of their JCrew Bubble Necklace look-a-like bubble necklaces, the Fit for A Queen Statement Necklace, as well as a bunch of other fun pieces! I literally cannot wait for the package to arrive. Also, if you know me, umm…maybe don’t buy any jewelry before Christmas, ok? #BloggerProblems I have also rekindled my love for the. I’ve talked about it a million times on my blog, but it’s just so incredible. It is water-resistant, so it is amazing at controlling oil and keeping your makeup looking flawless all day. It also helps my makeup go on better in the mornings because it helps to create a flawless canvas. I love, love, love Hourglass products (so much so that I’m going to be posting an Hourglass holiday makeup look later this week!), so I highly recommend trying them out. They’re a bit pricey, but their products are stellar. If you’re interested in trying out a few of their standout products, I’d recommend getting Sephora’s where you can try out their most popular products!
Walking Dead and The All Souls Trilogy: There’s actually been a shocking amount of rain the past two weeks in LA. While I didn’t enjoy the gloomy weather one bit, I’ve enjoyed staying inside with my hot tea and a candle burning and having movie/TV show and book-reading marathon sessions. I’ve been a long time fan of AMC’s The Walking Dead, but this season I’ve been borderline obsessed. I am SO upset that there won’t be any new epsiodes until February! I just finished Deborah Harkness’ a few weeks ago, and I just started the sequel, , earlier this week. I can’t seem to put this trilogy down. I’ve kind of been on a reading kick the past few months, so let me know your book recommendations in the comments below!
What have you guys been loving this month? Let me know in the comments, and be sure to look out for the Etsy/Small Business Holiday Gift Guide and AWESOME giveaway later this evening!
