I am a ride or die fan of Tarte’s Shape Tape concealer. It’s the best of the best, and for years, I haven’t been able to find anything that comes even remotely close to it in performance. Shape Tape covers everything, blends easily, stays in place all day long, and is literally just magic in a tube. It’s also $27 a tube, which is expensive. Just to be clear, I think it’s worth every penny because one tube will last you a very long time, but I completely understand that it can’t always fit in your budget.
That’s why I have searched for years for a Tarte Shape Tape dupe. While my search was always futile in the past, there’s been a few new concealers released at the drugstore over the past year that have completely changed the game. If you’re looking for a high coverage concealer that covers everything without breaking the bank, today’s post is for you. I’m sharing the best full coverage drugstore concealers, and the best Tarte Shape concealer dupes on the market!
Full-Coverage Drugstore Concealers: Best Tarte Shape Tape Dupes
Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour ConcealerSo before we start, let’s chat about the original for just a second. Tarte Shape Tape concealer is good. It’s really good. It may be $27 a tube, but that tube will last you a long time because a little bit goes a long way. It’s also available in 30 shades, so there’s an option for almost every skin tone. Even though the following concealers come extremely close, there’s still something that I prefer about Shape Tape. So if you want to splurge, this concealer is absolutely worth the money. If not, the next concealer on the list is your best bet!

L’ORÉAL Infallible Full Wear Waterproof ConcealerSo without further ado, here is my top pick for the best Tarte Shape Tape concealer dupe available at the drugstore. The L’ORÉAL Infallible Full Wear Waterproof Concealer is available in 25 shades, and the formula is nearly identical to Tarte Shape Tape. It also has a nearly identical wand applicator which helps you put the exact same amount of product on your skin – leading to similar results. It’s definitely the best drugstore concealer I’ve ever tried, and you can achieve basically identical results as you were using the Tarte concealer that costs quite a bit more. This one is a winner for sure!
NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop ConcealerAnd the second runner up prize goes to NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop concealer! It’s available in 24 shades, and although the formula is thicker than Tarte Shape Tape, you can achieve very similar results with this product. It’s highly-pigmented and covers everything you want it to. Because of the thicker formula, I find a teensy bit harder to blend than the L’ORÉAL version, but it’s still a fabulous product! You may prefer this formula if you’re looking to conceal very small areas like acne because it really sticks to your skin and stays in place.

E.L.F. 16HR Camo ConcealerIf you have oily skin and prefer a drier formula, I think you’ll love the E.L.F. 16HR Camo concealer. It has excellent coverage and blends nicely, but the formula dries quickly and more matte than Tarte Shape Tape. I’d recommend applying it to a small section and then blending before moving on to the next area. While I do think this concealer is great, it’s slightly too drying for my normal to dry skin. This affordable concealer is available in 18 shades, and I hope they expand the line even further soon.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION Conceal & Define Full Coverage ConcealerThe Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage concealer is a popular dupe for Tarte Shape Tape, and it really is a good concealer. With that being said, I don’t think it’s as close of a dupe as the three concealers mentioned above. It blends nicely and has a pretty finish, but I find the coverage to be slightly more natural than Shape Tape. I also had a hard time finding a perfect match for my skin tone, but that may just be me. It’s available in 24 colors, so there are quite a few shades to choose from.

CATRICE Liquid Camouflage ConcealerThe Liquid Camouflage concealer from Catrice is really great. It’s thinner in consistency than Shape Tape with slightly less coverage, but the finish is absolutely beautiful. It blends like a dream! If you think Tarte Shape Tape is too thick, but you still want great coverage, I think you’d love this formula! It’s available in 17 shades online.

MORPHE Fluidity Full-Coverage ConcealerThis Morphe Fluidity Full-Coverage concealer is one of my most-recent purchases, and it’s been a hit! For me, it probably gets 3rd runner up for the concealer closest to Shape Tape. I feel like the formula is a tiny bit thicker, and the coverage may be a teensy bit less. With that being said, it really is similar and is available in 31 shades. It’s definitely a great affordable alternative with a fantastic shade selection.

FLOWER BEAUTY Light Illusion Full Coverage ConcealerThe Light Illusion Full Coverage concealer from Drew Barrymore’s Flower Beauty reminds me quite a bit of the Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer. It has excellent coverage, blends perfectly, and has a gorgeous finish. It’s slightly more natural than Tarte Shape Tape, but it’s a great alternative for people who think Shape Tape is slightly too thick. While I love the formula, it’s currently only available in 6 shades. Hopefully they’ll expand the color range soon.

BeautyBlender Makeup Sponge DupeP.S. Here’s a bonus dupe for you. These makeup sponges are nearly identical to BeautyBlenders, but instead of paying $20 per sponge, you can get five sponges for under $9. You’ll NEVER go back! I use them every single day to apply my foundation, concealer, undereye powder, sometimes face powder, and cream blush/bronzer on occasion.

Overall, I still have to say that Tarte Shape Tape concealer reigns supreme. For me, the formula and coverage is just perfect, and I think it will always be my all-time favorite. With that being said, the L’ORÉAL Infallible Full Wear Waterproof Concealer comes in at a very close second, so it’s absolutely worth a shot! I’ve tested it side-by-side with Shape Tape for several weeks, and it’s honestly hard to tell much of a difference. If you’re looking for an affordable dupe for Shape Tape, I’d go with the L’OREAL concealer unless you want something with a slightly different formula than Shape Tape. There’s definitely a full coverage concealer in this post for almost everyone!
