Bye Bye Makeup: The Best Makeup Removers for Sensitive Skin

Today’s post is sponsored by Mirum Shopper. As always, all stated opinions are my honest thoughts. I value your trust and only promote brands that I truly love!

Sometimes I get a little over-excited with my makeup. I’ll receive a few new items to try out in the mail, and instead of trying them one at a time like a normal person, I’ll apply them all at once. Metallic smoky eyes on a Tuesday morning? Yep. High-coverage, waterproof foundation for an afternoon at home? Absolutely. Budge-proof liquid matte lipstick right before I’m about to go to bed? You betcha. I use the excuse that it’s my job as a beauty blogger to test out makeup, but honestly…it’s just fun for me to play with makeup.

You know what isn’t fun? Removing makeup. If you’re not using the right makeup remover, taking your makeup off at night is a rough battle filled with pain, redness, at least a dozen cotton pads, and black smudges everywhere. False lashes are the best until the glue is stuck in your eyelashes for a week. Waterproof mascara is a gift from God until you literally have to rip out all of your eyelashes to remove it. Today I’m going to make the battle against your makeup a thing of the past. I’ve found the best eye makeup removers that take off every last bit of your makeup without irritating your face. I’m talking no tugging, no tears, and no black smudges underneath your eyes. Oh, and all three products are extremely affordable and available at Walmart.

The best eye makeup removers for sensitive skin: Simple Dual Effect Eye Makeup Remover + Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil | Ashley Brooke NicholasYou might remember that I raved about the Simple Micellar Make-Up Remover Cleansing Wipes last month. I’ve been so crazy impressed with product that I wanted to explore more items from the line. I recently picked up the and at Walmart, and all I can say is WOW. I’ve mainly used high-end cleansing oils and dual-phase eye makeup removers in the past, and these products are honestly just as good… if not better. Plus, this line doesn’t contain artificial perfumes, dyes, or harsh chemicals, so it’s safe for even the most sensitive skin. If you’re reading this paragraph right now and thinking “yeah, I don’t like oily makeup removers” and heading to the close tab button, wait just a second. Yes, these products contain oil and will leave a slippery feeling on your face at first; however, your skin will not feel oily once it’s washed off with water. I’m not sure what kind of magic they added to these products, but I can assure you that they’re different from the oily makeup removers that you’re tried in the past.

If you’re wearing false lashes, make sure you remove them before this step. Once the makeup remover has had a chance to melt my makeup, I gently rub the the cotton pad across my eye area to remove all of the makeup. Unlike other eye makeup removers I’ve used, this product takes away every last bit of makeup – including the glue from my false lashes – without harsh rubbing or irritation. This product will make your eye area feel a little bit slippery, but I don’t mind it at all because I always follow up with cleansing oil and/or facial cleanser that removes excess oil from my skin. If you’re not planning to use a traditional cleanser after removing your makeup, the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes will quickly remove any excess product in seconds.

As you can see in this photo, this cleansing oil breaks up your makeup and separates it from your skin. After massaging the oil around my face for about 15-30 seconds, I wet my hands with warm water and rub the water into the oil. You’ll know that the oil is sufficiently emulsified when it starts to turn a milky white color. After the oil is emulsified, I splash my face with warm water to remove the excess oil and makeup from my skin. I know it may sound crazy, but my skin does not feel oily after I rinse my face. Cleansing oil is not as scary as it seems. I promise!

These cleansing wipes remove all of your makeup without stinging your eyes, irritating your skin, or leaving behind a residue. They’re fabulous. I always have a pack of cleansing wipes in my bathroom for nightly cleansing , next to my makeup brushes for correcting makeup mistakes, and on my bedside table for those nights when I’m too lazy to wash my face. Next time you’re at , pick up a pack or two.
