“cuffing season” advice + giveaway!
I was incredibly blessed to marry the love of my life a little over a year ago. My friends were all incredibly supportive, but they almost unanimously said the same thing to me. “You and Ryan are perfect for each other, and I am so happy that you’re getting married…but I don’t want to get married anytime soon! I’m too young!”…or some variation on that. I think they thought I’d be offended, but I completely understood. I never thought I’d marry young. I just happened to find my Prince Charming a lot earlier than expected.

What a stud, right? Best decision I’ve ever made.”
But it’s hilarious how all my single girlfriends seem to change their tune once the holidays roll around. Being single and free suddenly doesn’t seem so fun when the sentimental holiday movies come out, or you don’t have anyone to kiss on New Year’s Eve! I don’t blame them. I vividly remember being sixteen and eating an entire box of chocolates on Christmas Eve because I knew I wasn’t going to have a boyfriend before the end of the year. I convinced myself I was going to die an old cat woman, and I would never find the right person.
I used to think that I was just a crazy person who felt that way every year, but now I know it’s everyone…it’s the holidays…and it’s apparently called “cuffing season,” or the phenomenon that people who would normally be single magically want to be linked to someone once the winter season starts. I am not a relationship expert by any means, but now that I’m married I am the relationship guru within my circle of friends. Every one wants to know how to get a boyfriend or how to get a husband- especially now that “cuffing season” is in full swing.
So what’s my advice? Enjoy your life. Make wonderful memories with your friends and family. Stop worrying. I truly believe that things happen for a reason. The things that happened in my single life shaped me to be a perfect fit for my husband, and while I’m thankful for every wonderful new memory I make with him…I’ll never forget all the fun times I had with my family opening presents on Christmas morning, or baking cookies with my Grandma, or frolicking around town with my girlfriends on New Year’s Eve! Live in the moment and make the most of the season. I promise you are
