The Best Frizz-Fighting Hair Products from Redken

There are some steps in my beauty routine that are more annoying than others. I love applying makeup but hate taking it off. I love experimenting with new shampoos, conditioners, and hair treatments, but I absolutely can’t stand blow-drying my hair for some reason. That’s why the occasional salon blow–out is one of my favorite beauty treats.
This past week, I knew that I wouldn’t have the time or patience to blow-dry my hair before back-to-back work trips to Dallas and New York, so I decided to meet Stephanie at for girl talk while the skilled stylists twirled our hair into shape. Let me just say, it was the best decision I’ve made all month! Keep reading to see more details about this outfit, my experience at Hair Cuttery, and the best anti-frizz hair products from Redken.

I’m a fairly laid-back person, but I get majorly stressed when it comes to upcoming travel. Most of the time, I’m running around like a crazy frazzled person all day long before my travel date, and I end up showing up at my destination looking exhausted and far from looking cute. Since I was traveling to Dallas for the RewardStyle conference last week and would be surrounded by absolutely gorgeous ladies dressed to the nines. Needless to say, I didn’t want to arrive in my normal post-travel state.
As usual, my friends at Hair Cuttery transformed my hair from a dirty mess to smooth and shiny locks in no time, and I got to catch up with Steph and finalize my travel plans at the same time. I’m not always the smartest person, but believe me, this choice was a fabulous decision on my part. My hair looked great for a full three days – even after a full day of travel and two days at RewardStyle. I’d say that’s a pretty amazing return on investment, and I got to skip one of my least favorite parts of my pre-travel routine.

When I’m not able to swing by my local salon, I’ve been using a combination of two Redken hair collections at home. Since I have long, dry, and damaged hair, I’ve been combining Redken’s Extreme and Frizz Defense lines to repair existing damage and keep the frizz that’s unavoidable in Florida’s hot climate to a minimum.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been using the Redken Extreme shampoo and conditioner for the past few weeks with great results. The Redken Extreme collections strengthens any weakened areas in your hair with an RCT Protein Complex, and it restores your hair’s natural shine. I’ve found that both products provide the perfect level of moisture without weighing down my hair, and it seems to leave my hair shiny and easy to manage. I’d highly recommend this shampoo and conditioner combo to anyone.

After washing my hair, I’ve been following up with the Redken Extreme Mega Mask to give my hair an extra dose of TLC. It has a dual-chamber design that mixes a deep conditioning mask and a style extender to create the perfect hair treatment. It’s said to provide 15x stronger hair, and the results last for up to 3 washes. I find that this hair mask leaves my hair silky smooth, and the formula is very hydrating despite being extremely lightweight. It’s a great weekday mask because it washes out quickly and easily.

My long hair is chronically dry, so I like to treat it to a deep conditioning treatment whenever I can. I’ve been using Redken Frizz Dismiss Mask Intense Smoothing Treatment once a week as an ultra-luxurious and deeply-hydrating treatment, and it leaves my hair feeling so, so soft. It’s definitely one of the best anti-frizz hair products that I’ve ever used. I use a generous dollop of this thick mask and apply it from my roots to the very tips of my hair for as long as possible before rinsing it out. If you’re on the hunt for a hair mask that will moisturize your hair while simultaneously reducing frizz, definitely check out this product.

Ok, so remember how I said that I don’t like blowdrying my hair? Well, the Redken No Blow Dry Airy Cream is one product that helps me out in a major way on days when I just can’t be bothered to style my hair. A small amount of this styling cream gives fine hair a bit of texture, volume, and movement without the heavy feel of a traditional styling product. Plus, it contains quick-dry polymers to give your hair a faster drying time! I find that it reduces frizz and keeps my hair looking shiny and smooth on days when I’m not blow drying my hair, and thankfully, it doesn’t weigh down my ultra-fine hair at all.
When I am blowdrying my hair, Redken Frizz Dismiss Smooth Force It’s a lightweight smoothing lotion spray that’s best for fine to medium hair in low to high humidity conditions, and this anti-frizz hair product does it all. It detangles hair, tames frizz, provides heat protection up to 446 degrees, and contains Aquatorial to repel humidity while locking in your hair’s moisture. After washing my hair and applying a styling cream, I spritz this lightweight spray from root to tip to protect my hair from heat damage and lock in my style.

While I love using these products at home, I will never turn down the opportunity to have my hair styled by a pro. I’ll spare you the before picture, but just trust me, my hair was looking pretty rough before my friend Cheryl at the Hair Cuttery near International Plaza Mall in Tampa, Florida, whipped it back into shape!

After our hair refresh at Hair Cuttery, Stephanie and I headed to International Plaza in Tampa for some last-minute travel shopping and dinner, and it was just the best evening. I mean, what beats a good hair day, good friends, and good food? Nothing. Plus, I showed up at the RewardStyle conference looking presentable the next day with minimal effort. Major win!
