Thanksgiving week is finally upon us. My Thanksgiving traditions normally include spending time with family and friends, eating way too much turkey and pumpkin pie, and lots and lots of shopping. I used to be a hardcore Black Friday shopper, but I don’t the patience for it anymore. Thankfully, Cyber Monday is going to be better than ever this year, so I’m making a goal to all of my shopping online this year. My Cyber Monday shopping is going to be pure bliss. No waiting in line. No fighting with other customers for a parking spot a mile away from the mall. No messy stores. As if all of those things weren’t enough, I am planning on shopping at home in my pajamas while I watch my favorite Christmas movies. I think this idea might be my best ever.
To make my day of online shopping even easier, I’m creating a game plan to ensure that I don’t have to slave over the computer all day long. Cyber Monday can be heavenly IF you plan ahead. Here are my top five tips to create the best Cyber Monday shopping experience.
1. Make a shopping list.
With nearly every major retailer holding Cyber Monday Sales, you’re almost guaranteed to score a deal on all of the items on your wishlist. Plan ahead and make a shopping list with everything you’re hoping to buy: Christmas gifts for family/friends/co-workers, holiday decorations, household supplies, or maybe just a few treats for yourself!
2. Research the sales.
I find the easiest way to browse the Cyber Monday Sales is to find a coupon site such as Coupons.com, where they have detailed lists of all of the major retailers sales. To make things even easier, the list include a summary of the retailer’s sale PLUS any coupon codes you’ll need at checkout.
3. Use your research to determine which stores will have the lowest prices on your shopping list items.
Now that you know which items you’d like to buy and what discounts each retailer is offering, combine your research. Add the retailer with the lowest price next to each item on your shopping list. I like to create a shopping list based on each website, so I know which items I need to add to that store’s shopping cart. I try to focus my shopping list on luxurious items from quality brands that I normally wouldn’t be able to afford. With some of the sales featuring amazing brands at 50-80% off, I’m hoping to pick up an item or two from my wish list featured below!

4. Create a game plan.
At this point, all of the hard work is over. To create the best game plan, think about which stores you’ll need to shop at first. Some stores have Cyber Monday Sales all day long, while others offer limited-time offers for only a few hours. Prioritize stores with limited-time sales as well as popular items/extremely low-priced items. The better the sale, the quicker the item will go. Plan ahead, so that you don’t miss out on any of your shopping list items!
5. Impress your family and friends with your pro-level online shopping skills.
With your game plan in hand, your laptop charged, and a coffee by your side, you will dominate the Cyber Monday Sales. Simply follow your game plan and snap up the items you want while spending precious time with your loved ones.
