Spa Day at The Beauty Spot + Beauty Meets Soul Event
Even though I’m a self-proclaimed beauty addict, I had never been to a spa up until a few weeks ago. Of course I’ve had my fair share of manicures, haircuts, and at-home beauty treatments, but I had never had a true spa day experience . Massages, facials, and spa treatments sounded like such an indulgent luxury to me, and it seemed like I could never find the time to devote an afternoon to pure relaxation. There’s always a lengthy list of upcoming business deadlines or household chores that I feel like I should be working on, so I made excuse after excuse as to why I shouldn’t schedule an appointment at the spa. To give you an idea of my never-ending procrastination/excuses, I’ve literally had gift certificates to two different spas that have remained unused for nearly 8 years – not kidding. I’m not sure why I never scheduled an appointment, but after having not one but four separate people tell me that massages and facials would change my life, I knew I couldn’t procrastinate any longer. The same week that I wrote “schedule a massage” on my to-do list, The Beauty Spot Spa & Boutique in Orlando asked me if I’d like to come in and visit their new location- talk about perfect timing!
The Beauty Spot is basically my idea of heaven. Every inch of the building is pink, and the shelves are filled with beautiful- and not overpriced – beauty and fashion items. When I arrived for my massage, I was a bundle of nerves. I had two deadlines to finish later that day, and about 10 million random things on my mind. To make matters worse, I had already ingested way too much caffeine that day. I’m a naturally talkative person, but when you add in excessive amounts of caffeine and nervous energy…well, let’s just say I’m the Energizer Bunny of conversation. The Beauty Spot’s calming environment instantly started to calm me down, and the incredibly sweet staff made me feel completely at home. My masseuse Jamie did a fantastic job with my massage, and he even tolerated my non-stop talking throughout the 90-minute massage…like I said, I’m way too chatty when I’m nervous and caffeinated. Don’t worry- I made a mental note to stay away from all caffeine before my next appointment! I left my massage feeling like a bowl of Jello (in the best way possible), and the only thing that was on my mind was taking a nap. Seriously, my mood was completely reversed, and I floated on a cloud all the way home!

Now that we’ve discussed why The Beauty Spot’s store and spa are the bomb.com (totally still a thing, BTW), I need to brag about their staff a little bit more. They’re basically the coolest group of women- ever. In addition to creating a top-notch spa and boutique, they’re pretty much ninjas of all creative endeavors. A few weeks ago, they hosted the Beauty Meets Soul event, and it was such a fun night!

First of all, there was a freaking flame dancer, and it was the coolest/craziest thing I’ve ever seen! Plus, there was great food and drinks, an awesome DJ, henna art, spa services, and great conversation with some of my favorite Orlando bloggers including Stephanie, Michelle, Shannon, Kiara, Jomy, Ashlyn, The Shoe Maven, Orlando Fashion Girl, and Caitlin!

The Art Army was also there, and we created a full-size, impromptu mural for the side of The Beauty Spot’s building! It was so much fun painting with the girls, but I learned that my art skills haven’t progressed much since kindergarten!
If you live in Orlando and are looking for a new spa, you need to go to The Beauty Spot! It couldn’t be cuter, and the services are high-quality and well-priced. A++ in my book! For more information, check out The Beauty Spot’s website, blog, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest!
