My Goals for Spring
This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group®, PEOPLE®, and Real Simple®, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #SpringintoMeTime http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
I couldn’t be more excited for the beginning of spring. Winter had a few fun moments, but it was mainly a giant bundle of stress of chaos. Waking up to spring’s bright blue skies and blooming flowers over the past few days has given me extra energy and renewed my positive spirit for the year. Spring feels like a fresh start, and I’m extremely motivated to do a bit of spring cleaning in all areas of my life. This season, I’m focusing on making small changes in my daily routine to help me stay positive and productive throughout the entire spring season. I’m not sure what I should call this little mission, but right now I’m thinking that it should be named something like “Ashley’s Plan to Get Stuff Done And Not Be A Lazy Bum!”
Last week, I headed to Target to gather supplies for my spring mission. While I picked up a few organizational tools and home decor items, I couldn’t resist adding the latest issues of PEOPLE® and Real Simple® magazines into my cart. I’ve always loved flipping through magazines to get inspiration for the week, so I thought that my little purchase was completely justified. Thankfully, my “research expense” turned out to be a great investment. While I would love to copy every single idea I found in my two magazines, I’ve created a list with three manageable goals for spring.
Goal #1: Read Every Single Day
In January, I made a goal to read more, and so far…I’ve failed miserably. Unfortunately, I just don’t make time for reading each day. I get caught up in work projects, Netflix marathons, or Pinterest instead of starting a good book. This spring, I’m going to make an effort to read for at least half an hour each day. This month’s Real Simple® featured interviews and essays featuring women accomplishing amazing feats in art, business, and charity work. All of the women found their success through a mixture of curiosity, tenacity, and a never-ending desire to learn and improve. Their accomplishments have inspired me to try a little harder in all aspects of my life, and I really believe that adding reading back into my daily routine will help me in a variety of ways. I want to keep reading on my mind throughout the season, so I picked up this adorable anchor bookend at Target to help me notice my books each day. Please leave a comment with your spring book recommendations!
Goal #2: Keep My Desk Neat & Organized
I really do work better in a tidy space. When I have all of my work supplies neat and organized, I can finish all of my tasks quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately, I’m a creative-type that tends to be more on the messy side. I don’t mind cleaning or organizing, but I just love creating a lot more. I get caught up in my projects and neglect to put things back into their proper space, but my messy office isn’t exactly photo-worthy on any given day. This season, the messiness is going to stop. The photos of immaculately organized and creatively designed spaces in PEOPLE® and Real Simple® have given me so much inspiration for creating a functional home office. I’m determined to create a home office that’s neat, tidy, and 100% me.
Goal #3: Show More Gratitude
I’m a firm believer that gratitude is one of the key components of living a good life, and I’m determined to get better about expressing how much I appreciate help from others. I’m making it my personal mission to say thank you to as many people as I can this month. Whether you take the time to send a handwritten thank you note or simply remind someone how much appreciate their help, showing gratitude can go a long way. This month, I’m going to make it my personal mission to write more thank you notes and be a little bit more grateful!
