OWN Refining Moisture Night Cream and Firming Silk Concentrate
A few weeks ago I told you I was getting old and wrinkly had found a new eye cream that I was hoping would work miracles. I am still liking the OWN Lifting Eye Cream, so I thought I’d update you on my experiences with a few of the other products in the OWN anti-aging line.
I really wanted to love these products. I really did. They’re paraben-free, reasonably priced, and I love the eye cream from the line. Unfortunately, they’re just not the right fit for my combination to oily skin type.
I actually really love the texture of the OWN Refining Moisture Night Cream, and it feels great on your skin. Very moisturizing and not too greasy. I think this night cream would be a great product for normal to dry skin types, but it is definitely too heavy for me to use all over my face. I don’t want to waste the product, so I’ve been using this cream on my neck and on any dry patches that pop up. It works well as a cream for my neck, but I could never justify spending $24 on a product that I use solely for my neck. If you have dry skin, you might like this product, but I’d pass on this product if your skin is on the oilier side or if you have a tendency to breakout.
The OWN Firming Silk Concentrate is another story completely. It’s just straight up oily. I understand the concept of facial oils, but so far I haven’t found a product that works for me. Maybe it’s just a personal preference, but I hate the feeling of any sort of residue on my face. This product feels similar to argan oil, and I’d be tempted to use this product on my hair if I wasn’t planning on giving it away to my mom. I’ve tried using this product multiple ways, and the only way it’s worked at all is to mix a drop or two of the oil into my traditional lotion to make it a bit more moisturizing. It’s actually a great additive to hand or foot cream, which I don’t mind being a bit greasy, but it’s definitely too oily for my face. Again, I just wouldn’t feel comfortable spending money on products that I’m afraid will turn me into a discoball of oil or make me breakout.
What are your favorite anti-aging skin care products? Any products that would work well for combination-oily skin?
