October Life Favorites
Happy November everyone! Earlier this week I shared my October Beauty Favorites, so I thought I’d follow up with my non-beauty favorites for the month. October is always a fun month for me because of the beginning of fall weather, the release of Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and my birthday! This October did not disappoint. I had SO much fun over the course of the month; however, I definitely spent too much money on PSLs- but it was totally worth it. Here are my favorites for the month!
My husband is an optometry student and a bonafide smarty pants, and he won a scholarship to attend Vision Expo in Las Vegas this year. The optometry conference happened to fall on my birthday week, so being the amazing man that he is, my husband bought me a ticket to head to Vegas with him! To make things even better, Michelle and our friend Clay tagged along to keep me company while Ryan was busy doing doctor things! Look forward to a full post about our Vegas adventure next week, but in the meantime check out the beautiful landscape of Red Rock Canyon! Las Vegas isn’t all casinos and bright lights; the desert is absolutely stunning!
My New Gold iPhone 5s
My New Gold iPhone 5s
As my friends and family are well aware of, I’ve been carrying around a demolished iPhone for the past few months. When I say demolished, I mean it. It was functional (thank goodness!), but I had multiple people ask me “OMG, what happened to your phone?” every single day. It was sad, but I refused to use my upgrade until the new iPhones came out. I am so, so happy that I did because now I have my gold 5s, and she is perfection. The only problem is, I’m so enamored with the gold detailing that I’m not sure which case to get! Any suggestions? Let me know if you guys would be interested in a What’s On My Phone post with more details about my favorite apps!
Fall Candles
Fall candles are the best candles, and I’ve been burning mine nonstop. My four most burned candle scents are all from Bath and Body Works: Pumpkin Cupcake, Marshmallow Fireside, Cider Donut (50% off in stores- can’t find a link online!), and Leaves. With the weather cooling down, there’s nothing more comforting than lighting one of these candles and snuggling up under a warm blanket with some tea and a good book! If you haven’t tried the Bath and Body Works candles, go buy some the next they’re on sale!American Horror Story: Coven and Sons of Anarchy
I’ve been a fan of American Horror Story since the premiere episode, and this season hasn’t disappointed so far! The show is honestly so weird, but I can’t stop watching it! All three seasons have been great so far- just don’t watch it alone! I don’t know why, but I’ve resisted watching Sons of Anarchy until now. I started with the first episode last week, and I’ve watched it every single day since then! The storyline is addictive, and there’s some nice eye candy in there too (Jackson Teller aka Charlie Hunnam)! Is it crazy if I buy a ?
Just Dance 2014 and The Delirium Trilogy
My husband is notoriously amazing at video games, and he’s also notorious for never letting anyone else win at anything- ever. Being the competitive person that I am, when I find something that I can beat my husband at, it’s a big deal. Dance video games are one of the few things that I’m better at, so when I received in the mail, I jumped up and down with joy. I immediately put it into our XBox 360 and proceeded to destroy my husband’s ego for about an hour. The game is super fun, so I’m planning a whole post to tell you about my favorite details of the game that should be up next week! As the weather gets cooler, my inner bookworm comes out. I’ve been reading through my Kindle library like there’s no tomorrow. This month, I finished the Delirium trilogy by Lauren Oliver. They’re not fine literature, but it’s a fun book to read if you have some extra time. I loved all three books in the series (, , and ) equally, which is rare for me! My love for books has definitely been re-kindled this year, so I’m seriously considering a Book Club series of blog posts. The next book on my reading list is , but I’m always looking for book suggestions! Let me know if you’ve read any good lately that you’d recommend!
