October Beauty Favorites
Hi ladies! Sorry for the absence this week. I’ve been battling some sort of cold, and I’ve honestly spent a lot of time sleeping, catching up on my favorite blogs, and watching Sons of Anarchy. The few days of relaxation definitely payed off, and I’m almost back to my normal self. What better way to hop bag into my normal blogging schedule than a favorites post? October is my birthday month, so I have quite a few! I’ll be sharing my beauty favorites of the month today, and I’ll be back with my life and other random favorites later this week.

This month has been all about simple, classic makeup for me. I still work in some fun with color every once in a while, but most days it’s been neutral eyes, perfect skin, and a berry lip. I’ve been keeping my hair style simple with loose curls, and my beloved has kept my hair silky smooth all month long.
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette is my favorite thing in the entire world right now. Like all Hourglass products, the packaging is sleek and glamorous, and the quality is out of this world. I bet you’re wondering what this product actually does. Well, have you ever had a photograph taken where the lighting was just perfect? Good lighting does more for your appearance than makeup, plastic surgery, or anything else in my opinion. Good lighting can eliminate wrinkles, smooth away imperfections, and give you a flawless look. These powders are basically meant to mimic the effect of different types of lighting.
The * contains three shades of their ambient lighting powders: Incandescent Light, Dim Light, and Radiant Light, and it also includes a sample size of their famous primer (a long-time favorite of mine!). I’ve loved using this product as both a highlighter and a finishing powder, and I’m finding new ways to use it everyday. I think this set would be a phenomenal Christmas gift for any beauty enthusiast! Expect to see this product in quite a few holiday makeup tutorials!
Over the summer I tend to prefer more natural makeup, so I wasn’t really wearing too much eyeliner. Now that fall fashion is in full-force, I can’t resist a good cat eye. The Jordana Fabuliner (which I recently raved about in my Best Makeup Products Under $5 post) makes creating the perfect cat eye so easy, and it doesn’t smudge at all. I’ve also been inspired by the fall runway looks to create a stronger brow. Since I’m naturally blonde, it’s incredibly hard to find an eyebrow product that doesn’t make me look crazy. * is literally perfect. It’s a light tinted gel with tiny fibers that defines my brows and keeps them in place. I don’t know how I ever lived without it honestly! I gave Michelle the darker brown color when we were in Vegas early this month, so I’ll have to get her opinion on the other shade in the line!
Like I mentioned earlier, this month has been all about a classic neutral eye. The palette is so easy for my everyday look. I use the pink brightening creme underneath my brow and underneath my eyes to eliminate darkness and brighten up my eyes. For the shadow, I first apply the cream shade on the left to my entire lid. Then, I’ve been taking the shimmery champagne-pink on the right and adding it to the inner half of my eyelid. I use the shimmery brown in the crease to finish the look. The eyeshadows in this palette are really high quality, and the brush is actually not too bad!
While I’ve been buying lip products like crazy for some reason, I keep going back to these two products this month. When I want a little bit of color,is just the perfect berry pink. It looks good with everything, and it automatically adds some life to your complexion! For days when I want a more neutral lip,has been a lifesaver. It’s a beautiful babydoll pink that’s just warm-toned enough to be universally flattering.
As if you couldn’t tell from my Top Fall Nail Trends post, I am a bit of a nail polish enthusiast. I love my summer brights and neons, but fall polishes will always hold a special place in my heart. I didn’t get to snap a picture of while it was on my nails earlier this month, but it’s the best navy polish I’ve ever found. It’s a true navy, but it has a bit of a brighter blue quality to it that separates it from other polishes. Most of the other navy polishes that I own basically look black on the nails, but retains its blue quality. It’s amazing- go buy it.
was a bit of a random purchase. I was in one those “I’m bored. Maybe I’ll wander around the drugstore” type of moods, and I was idly wandering around Walgreens with no purpose at all when I stumbled upon this polish. It looked so pretty on the display that I just had to buy it, but it’s honestly just breathtaking on the nails. The photograph of my nailsdoesn’t do it justice at all. Look at the bottle in the picture to get a truer representation of the color. Go buy this nail polish. It’s only a few dollars, the formula is great, and it didn’t chip for a whole week. Oh, and the shimmery burgundy color is absolutely gorgeous. You will absolutely not regret buying this polish.
is one my go-to polishes all year round. It’s a beautiful iridescent flake top coat that adds a bit of glitz to any polish. Over spring and summer brights, it’s girly and sweet, but it really shines over fall vampy colors. This week, I layered it over a black polish to create an oil slick effect. It’s really pretty in person, and I get so many people asking me how I achieved the look!
