My Latest Obsession: Just Dance 2014

Let me set the stage for you. My husband is really good at video games, and I'm not just a proud wife. He's seriously really, really, really good at video games. For the record, I am really, really, really bad at video games. To make things even worse, my husband and I are both extremely competitive. Even if I was actually capable of beating him at video games, I still wouldn't want to play with him because he mainly plays boring boy games where you just shoot people for hours on end aka not my cup of tea.

My video game skills are limited, to say the least, but I do excel at one type of game- dance video games. As a lifelong dancer and experienced dance instructor, the popularity of dance video games makes my heart explode with happiness. Not only are they extremely fun and a great workout, but I beat my husband every single time.

Well, imagine my delight when this beauty landed on my doorstep last month.

Just Dance 2014 did not disappoint. Not only is the game incredibly fun, but I managed to beat my husband without any effort at all. For that reason alone, this game would be my favorite, but it's one of my new favorite activities. You'd be surprised how tired you can get from this game, and it beats going to the gym any day!


I love the song selection in  Just Dance 2014. The songs range from recent pop hits to hilarious oldies. How can you not have a good time dancing with Slimer from Ghostbusters? The dance routines themselves are easy enough to learn, and the choreography ranges from cool hip hop to ridiculous but extremely funny moves. This game is perfect for kids and adults alike, and it's a fantastic game to play with friends! You can even battle against another person and see who's the best!

 Of course I have to document my high scores.

 The game has a funny feature that plays back snippets from your round, and they add in props or effects depending on the song you chose. After I dominated Ghostbusters, my replay slimed me. I say bring on the slime if it means I get a high score!
