Review of Toddler Swim Classes at Goldfish Swim School Winter Park

Thanks to Goldfish Swim School for providing complimentary swim classes for my daughters to facilitate this review. As always, all stated opinions are my honest thoughts. I value your trust and only partner with brands that I truly love.

We live in Florida, so my kids are constantly around water. Nearly all of our family members also have homes with pools, so it’s extremely important for our children to learn how to swim at an early age. I knew that it would be even harder to keep an eye on our kids around the water once baby #3 arrived, so we prioritized finding the right swim classes for our two toddlers while I was pregnant.

After researching all of the options in our area, we decided to put Summer and Luna in swim class at Goldfish Swim School Winter Park. After a few months of classes, I’m back to report my honest experience to you. Keep reading to hear about our full experience with toddler swim classes in Orlando and to take a peek inside the Goldfish Swim School Winter Park facility!

Review of Toddler Swim Classes at Goldfish Swim School Winter Park

When I was looking for Orlando swim classes for my two and four-year-old daughters, I wanted to find a school that would help my girls learn water safety skills and help them build confidence in the water. My oldest daughter Summer had taken a few swim classes two years ago, but for the most part, neither of my daughters had any formal exposure to swim lessons. I wanted to make sure I found instructors that would help keep them safe in the water while also helping them develop a love for swimming.

After quite a bit of searching, I chose to enroll Summer and Luna at Goldfish Swim School Winter Park. It’s conveniently located near our home, offers tons of swimming classes at every level, and has a family-friendly facility that my kids love. We also loved that both of our girls were able to take their swim classes at the same time thanks to the large number of class times the school offers.

What We Loved about Goldfish Swim School Winter Park

GREAT INSTRUCTORS: As a former dance teacher, I admittedly sometimes have unrealistic expectations of teachers. With that being said, I have been SO impressed with all of the instructors at Goldfish Swim School Winter Park. All of Summer and Luna’s swim teachers run their classes smoothly and efficiently with a kind demeanor, and the exercises progressively add new skills each week. The teachers are all highly-professional with great energy, and they offer great feedback to help parents understand how they help their child improve.

In Summer’s beginner classes (she just turned four), the instructor provides hands-on, individual instruction for each child in the class. They’ll slightly modify each swim exercise for each child depending on their skill and comfort level, and they always give great positive reinforcement to the kids. Summer LOVES her teachers!

In the classes for younger toddlers (Luna just turned two), a parent is in the water with each child, and the instructor demonstrates each exercise with a baby doll. They give great feedback and offer modifications to the parent to make the exercise easier or more difficult for the individual child’s level, and they’ve also been able to give us ideas of things to do at home to help our children get more comfortable in the water.

FUN CLASS STRUCTURE: I love that Goldfish Swim School Winter Park makes learning how to swim fun for the kids. Each class features props and toys that are appropriate for their age and skill level to assist in each exercise. The instructors offer feedback in a positive and constructive tone, and they offer modifications and advice to help kids develop comfort and confidence in the water.

For example, they want the children to help the kids be comfortable with water being poured on their head before having a parent dunk them underwater. Instead of jumping straight into something that might make the kids scared of the water, they helped us learn each step of the process to make them conditioned to going underwater easily. We’re still working on it, but it’s definitely make a difference with our girls!

In the classes for younger toddlers, they always do a fun game or activity at the end of the class. Luna’s favorite is always this cute canoe!

EFFICIENT SCHOOL PROCEDURES: From the very first class, I’ve been very impressed with how efficient the school runs their classes and administrative procedures. Registration and class scheduling are quick and easy, and they offer a fantastic app that allows you to register for classes, schedule absences and makeup classes, and more.

All of our classes at Goldfish Swim School promptly begin and end at the scheduled times, and they have ample staff available to run every function of the school. There’s always someone available to help answer questions, direct you to the appropriate area, etc. Plus, all of the staff is kind, helpful, and well-trained.

AWESOME SAFETY PROTOCOL: As I just mentioned, Goldfish Swim School Winter Park always has plenty of staff members available to assist, and that includes helping with safety too. As you can see in the photos above, there are always lifeguards manning the pool in addition to the instructors inside the pool. It makes me feel so good knowing that my kids are always safe in the pool while they’re still learning to swim on their own.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY FACILITY: We were immediately impressed by the Goldfish Swim School Winter Park’s facility. There are so many family-friendly features available, and it makes your experience with classes so much easier. I’ll give you a quick tour of the facilities next!

I wanted to take a minute to show you some of my favorite features of the facility at Goldfish Swim School Winter Park. They really thought of every step of the parent’s experience when they designed the space!

LARGE AREA TO VIEW CLASSES: I love that Goldfish Swim School Winter Park has a large waiting area for the parents with ample seating and large windows to view their child’s class. My husband and I have always been able to find seats for ourselves (and grandparents too!) and can clearly see both of our children’s classes at all times.

There’s also a cute children’s waiting area for kids who are waiting for their siblings. There’s a cute table where they can sit and read, color, or play, and both of my girls love checking out the aquarium before and after their classes.

TONS OF SPACE FOR GETTING READY: One of my favorite features of Goldfish Swim School is the changing area. In addition to tons of family-friendly bathrooms with changing tables, they also offer changing rooms and a space to blow dry your child’s hair. There’s also a shower available directly next to the pool for kids to wash off their chlorine before heading into the waiting area.

HANDY SUPPLY SHOP: As a mom of three, I always appreciate it when schools offer a place to buy supplies on site. While I try to be as organized and ready-to-go before classes, this shop has definitely come in handy for finding hard-to-find items like larger reusable swim diapers that aren’t available in most stores or even online. Plus, I was able to buy Summer a pair of affordable goggles when we left hers at home. The items are cute, great quality, and reasonably priced.

Overall, I’d highly recommend to Goldfish Swim School Winter Park to families in the Orlando area looking for Orlando swim classes for toddlers in a fun and low-pressure environment.
