Get Ready with Me: Spring Beauty Routine
This post is sponsored by Target. #TargetStyle
Last week, Florida decided it was done with dreary winter weather, so we’re finally back to sunny days in the high 80s. After month of gray skies and endless rainstorms, I can’t wait to spend each day in the bright sunshine. Now that the weather has changed, I’m breaking out the bright colors in my wardrobe and trying out new spring makeup looks. I like sweaters, boots, and dark lips as much as any girl, but my heart beats for colorful prints, tanned skin, and rosy pink lips! I’ve been having so much fun playing with my new spring clothes and makeup from Target, so I thought I’d share a “get ready with me” post on my new spring look!
Step 1: Brighten Your Complexion
After applying a light foundation and a boatload of concealer, I use the Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Blusher in Casablanca to add a coral glow to my cheeks. I can tell that this limited edition blush is going to be a spring and summer staple. The subtle coral color gives your cheeks the perfect amount of color, and I can already tell it’s going to look even better when I get a tan! The formula is out of this world, and I honestly like it more than most of my high-end blushes. I can’t wait to pick up the other colors in the collection!
Step Two: Define and Highlight Your Eyes
Applying eyeshadow is my favorite part of my makeup routine, and my new makes creating a beautiful spring eye look easy and fun. I’ve been a big fan of Sonia Kashuk eyeshadows for years, but this palette kind of blew my mind. The combination of metallic and matte neutral shades couldn’t be more stunning, and the shadows are smooth, pigmented and easy to blend. This compact palette is going to be my go-to eye kit for my spring and summer vacations! If you are on the fence about which eyeshadows you should pick up this season, skip the fancy designer brands and pick up this palette instead. You won’t regret it.
To add some extra definition to my eyes, I deepened my brows with the . This kit features six matte powders that will help you create the perfect color for your brows. I used a mix of the first two shades on my eyebrows, and I used the lightest shade as a highlight underneath my browbone. This palette is a great find for anyone looking for a natural brow look, and the powders can also double as subtle matte eyeshadows!
Step 3: Add A Pop of Color
I like to keep my spring makeup light and fresh, but I just can’t resist adding a bit of color. I finished the look with a dab of and .
Step 4: The Curl and Twist
Once my makeup is finished, I style my hair by adding loose curls and adding a quick spritz of hairspray. To keep my hair off my face, I twist a small section of hair on each side and secure with two criss-crossing bobby pins.
Step 5: Accessorize
Necklace: Olive + Piper c/o | Sunglasses: | Nail Polish:
After my makeup and hair is finished, it’s time for the fun part: accessories! I wanted to jazz up this fun kelly green dress from Target with lots of sparkle, so I added my favorite white statement necklace from Olive + Piper, sparkly studs and bracelets from Trending Above, stacking rings from, and my go-to bow ring from Kate Spade. I love how the gold and white accessories pop against the kelly green dress! I always like to carry around matching sunglasses just in case it gets sunny, and I knew that a tortoiseshell cat eye lens would go perfectly with this look. I’ve been dreaming about purchasing a specific pair of $150+ designer sunglasses, but on my last trip to Target I found these beauties. The style and quality is nearly identical to the expensive pair I had my eyes on, and this pair was 1/10 the price! I’ve already received at least a dozen compliments since I started wearing these shades around town!
