How to Get Magazine Subscriptions for Less
Back in the day, magazines were my jam. I’d ask for a subscription to Vogue for my birthday every year, and as soon as I got a job, I’d go buy a stack of the latest fashion magazines every payday. I’d plaster my walls with outfit inspiration from the pages of my favorite articles, and I’d take down notes of items that I needed to go look at during my next trip to the mall. And then fashion blogs, Youtube channels, Instagram, and Pinterest happened…
The explosion of the internet fashion scene didn’t change my love of magazines, but it changed the way that I got my information. I am on my phone, computer, or tablet all-day, everyday. It’s my job, and it’s the way that our generation consumes and distributes information. I keep all of my photos, music, movies, and the majority of my books in the cloud, so it doesn’t really make sense to grab a stack of magazines when I’m at the grocery store. Plus, the price of magazines has sky-rocketed. I tried to buy a magazine the other day at Target, and it was $9.99…for ONE magazine. I’d go broke if I bought all of my favorites each months! Thankfully, I’ve found an app that solves my magazine problems, and I guarantee you’re going to love it.

Fellow magazine lovers, meet your new BFF: Texture. Texture is an app that’s basically Netflix for magazines. You pay a small monthly fee, and you get instant access to hundreds of the most popular magazines. As soon as I signed up, I headed straight to the fashion section and added Vogue, ELLE, InStyle, Glamour, W, Allure, Women’s Wear Daily, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, People StyleWatch, and Teen Vogue. If I subscribed to all of these magazines or bought them at the newsstands each month, I’d be paying close to $50/month. With Texture, I can read all of these magazines each month plus hundreds more on up to five devices. I split an account with my husband, so he’s added all of his favorite magazines to the list too!

Plus, it’s so nice that Texture offers hard-to-find titles like Women’s Wear Daily. They don’t sell WWD at any of the retailers in my city, and I like to stay up-to-date on the latest news in fashion. It’s nice to be able to browse through a new issue each week on my iPhone or iPad while I’m lounging in bed or waiting at an appointment. I’ve already gained so much inspiration for my fall fashion blog posts after reading a few issues of WWD, and I honestly consider this magazine to be “research” as much as it is entertainment!

If you’re a magazine lover too, you should definitely check out Texture. For $9.99 a month, you get unlimited access to hundreds of monthly magazines (including all back issues) on up to five devices! You can split the subscription between family members, so your significant other or kids can read their favorites too. If you’re a fan of weekly magazines like Women’s Wear Daily, you can upgrade to the premium membership. For $14.99 a month, you’ll be able to read all of your favorite weekly and monthly magazines (including all back issues) on five devices.
I’ve loved catching up on my favorite magazines on my recent travels, and I can tell that Texture is going to be my most used app this summer. I mean, how perfect is it for long flights or lazy days at the beach? If you’d like to try Texture for yourself, you can get a free 7-day trial! I’d love for you to try out this app and let me know what you think. I’m already obsessed with having instant access to my favorite magazines, and I think you will be too!
