Easy Ways to Create a Cute and Flirty Space
If I lived alone, I'm sure my house would have pink, glitter, and bows everywhere, but girly decor isn't the best idea when you share a home with a man. My husband doesn't care too much aboiut home decor, but I doubt he wants to sleep in a bed covered with hearts and floral prints. Since I kept the overall decor of our house fairly understated and traditional, I decided it was only fair to create the girliest office/closet in existence. I wanted to create an office with cute decor, lots of personality, and a fun and flirty vibe. Today I thought I'd share a few of my tips for creating a cute and flirty space!
Display Your Favorite Items
In my opinion, a nice pair of shoes or a fancy ring is a piece of art. While I love to style fun outfits, I also like to use my favorite fashion pieces as decor in my office/closet. Simply take a few of your favorite accessories and place them on your bookshelf to showcase your signature style and add personality to the room. For a flirty touch, display your highest pair of heels on top of a stack of your favorite books.
Add Color
Adding color to a room can instantly change the vibe. I'm aiming for a bright, happy, and feminine look with a flirty twist, so I like to combine white furniture with hot pink and gold accessories. Throughout my office, I also have pops of leopard print, and I tie it all together with a few black items. Have fun with color and don't worry too much about having all of the items match perfectly. In my opinion, the more color you have, the better!
Add Your Signature Scent
Adding your signature fragrance to a room can instantly change the mood. When my office smells like nothing, it just seems like an office. When I take the time to light a candle or spritz a fragrance in the room, it suddenly feels like it's a girly boutique. Lately I've been burning Glade candles in Blooming Peony & Cherry non-stop. I'm already on my second candle in this scent, and I'm sure I'll go through a dozen more by the end of summer! The fragrance is a mix of everything I love: delicate peonies, fresh pink rose, relaxing white woods, and bright cherries! If you like sweet scents that combine fruit and floral notes, be sure to sniff this candle the next time you're at the store!
When I'm looking for a stronger fragrance, I'll melt the wax melts in the same scent. The Glade Blooming Peony & Jasmine wax melts are highly concentrated, and one cube is strong enough to scent my entire first floor! I love using my wax warmer when I want to make my entire house smell amazing, and the scented oil plug-in version of this scent is equally fantastic for large spaces.
