Every holiday season, I’m determined to find the most unique and creative gifts for each member of my family. Despite my good intentions, I inevitably run out of time and grab a generic gift from the store at the last minute. This year, I’m breaking the cycle. I’m starting my Christmas shopping early, so that I have time to hunt down the perfect items for my loved ones at the best prices.
Our first Christmas shopping trip was for the teenagers in our family. We have four teenagers in our family, and I always have the hardest time thinking of a cute gift idea for them that isn’t too childish but isn’t too adult either. As usual, I figured it was safe to go with electronics. Teens like cool electronic gizmos, but the teens in our life already have iPhones, iPads, laptops, TVs, and more.
After searching online for hours, I finally decided to buy one of the teens in our life a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera. They’re cute, colorful, and the perfect way to document little moments of happiness. I was super pumped about the idea, and I even started daydreaming that the teens in my life would actually think I was cool and trendy. Unfortunately, I was brought back to reality quickly. All of my local stores didn’t carry the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8, and the closet camera was over 50 miles away from my home. No thanks.
Instead of giving up on my Christmas present dreams, I ran to my computer, logged onto eBay, and purchased the camera within a total of three minutes. Bingo! My Christmas present game plan was back on track.

I know the recipient (shhh…not telling who it is!) is going to be ecstatic about this gift.The pink case alone is pretty incredible, but I know that this artsy gal will capture some incredible moments with the camera. It took all of my will power to resist keeping this camera for myself, but I successfully wrapped it up and put it under the tree. I can’t promise that I won’t pick up another one for myself before Christmas, though!
When you’re shopping for your holiday gifts this year, don’t take the easy way out. Gift cards are great, but personalized or unique gifts are so much better. It may take a few extra minutes to find the perfect gift, but the extra effort is guaranteed to create big smiles on Christmas morning!
