The Best Full Coverage Concealers for Dark Circles

I feel like concealer is the most underrated makeup product. Metallic eye shadows and brightly-colored lipsticks are more flashy in makeup displays,  but at the end of the day, those products wouldn’t look half as good on your face if your concealer wasn’t working its magic. So why am I so passionate about concealers? Well, it mainly has to do with the fact that I have horrible hereditary under eye circles that are often made worse by seasonal allergies. It doesn’t matter how much sleep I get or how many eye creams I use; my dark circles aren’t going away. Thankfully, I have own a handful of the best full coverage concealers that perk up my tired under eyes, and today I’m sharing them with you. If you’re looking for the best full coverage concealers for dark circles and blemishes, you’ve come to the right place. Keep reading to learn about the best concealers on the market!

Tarte Cosmetics Shape Tape Concealer (available in 14 colors): I can’t even put into words how much I love this concealer. I currently own four tubes. Yes, I did just say that I own four tubes of the same concealer. In my defense, three of the tubes are different colors, but still, it shows how much I love this stuff. So what’s the reason for the Tarte Shape Tape concealer stealing the #1 spot on my ride or die makeup list? It covers everything, blends like a dream, and stays in place all day long. If you need industrial-strength concealer, trust me, you’re going to want to order a tube (or four) of this miracle concealer for dark under eye circles. I can safely say that this concealer is my #1 recommendation!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (available in 16 colors): Before the Tarte Shape Tape concealer stole my heart, I almost exclusively used the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. It has a thick and creamy formula that covers dark circles like a champ, and it sets to a satin finish. If you have normal, combination, or oily skin, I think you’d love this full-coverage concealer. If you want to see a flashback of my makeup favorites, you can read why I selected this concealer as one my top beauty products of 2013.

NARS Soft Matte Concealer (available in 14 colors): This potted concealer is the newest addition to my under eye concealer arsenal. It has an incredibly pigmented formula and a soft matte finish that blends seamlessly into the skin. If you’re looking for a concealer that will cover both your dark under eye circles and blemishes without fail, you’ll want to look into this formula.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (available in 6 colors): This drugstore concealer has earned a permanent spot in my makeup collection thanks to its stellar performance. In fact, I love it so much that I selected it for all of my back to school drugstore makeup kits! While it doesn’t have quite the level of coverage that Shape Tape provides, this concealer has a nice amount of pigment, blends very easily, and won’t empty your wallet. If you’re looking for one of the best full coverage concealers for dark circles at the drugstore, Maybelline Fit Me might be your perfect fit.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (available in 16 colors): Looking for a concealer that will stay in place in the heat and humidity of summer? This makeup gem from MAC fits the bill. It has a liquid texture that’s packed with pigment and a long-wearing formula that doesn’t budge. If you have oily skin or live in a humid environment, you should really check out this concealer.

Pixi By Petra Correction Concentrate (available in 2 colors): If your under eye circles have a blue or purple tint, you might want to consider using a color-correcting product before your normal concealer. Peach and orange tones cancel out blue and purple tones, and this fabulous potted concealer from Pixi comes in  both of those magic shades. The Brightening Peach shade is my personal favorite, and I recommend it to anyone with a fair to medium complexion. This light peach concealer will mask your blue-ish dark circles like nothing else, and the price point is lower than many of its competitors. If you want to see this product in action, you can see a dramatic before-and-after picture using this concealer in this easy makeup tutorial.  This formula is also available in a deeper apricot shade that’s appropriate for medium to deep skin tones.

bareMinerals bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer (available in 6 colors): This fabulous concealer from bareMinerals earned the #2 spot for concealer in my Ride or Die Makeup list, and it continues to be one of my favorites. Unlike some full-coverage concealers, this product manages to cover all of your discoloration without drying out your skin. The moisturizing and serum-based formula is absolutely amazing for dry or mature skin, and it leaves your under eye circles looking naturally perfected. I own this product in three shades, and I’ve bought several more tubes as gifts for friends and family. If you have dry skin or want a more moisturizing concealer, definitely check out this product.

L.A. Girl HD Pro Concealer (available in 20 colors): There are quite a few pricey concealers on this list, and I have to say that this budget-friendly find from L.A. Girl gives them all a run for their money. It’s available in a stellar range of colors (including color-correcting shades), and it has a highly-pigmented formula to cover up even the worst dark circles. Oh, and did I mention that it’s under $5? Definitely a winner from the drugstore!

Physicians Formula #InstaReady Concealer (available in 3 colors): This full-coverage concealer from Physicians Formula is relatively new to the market, but it packs a big punch in a little bottle. It has a liquid-y texture that reminds me of MAC Pro Longwear concealer, and the pigmentation and coverage is similar to MAC as well. If you want full coverage with a lightweight feel, this affordable concealer from the drugstore is a great pick.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (available in 6 colors): I’ve been using this amazing concealer from Maybelline for at least five years, and I even featured in my favorite makeup products of 2012 post. I always have at least one tube in my makeup collection. This concealer has a very thin and feather-light formula that conceals your under eye circles without looking cake-y or heavy. The low price point is also hard to beat!

NYX HD Photo Concealer Wand (available in 20 colors): This bestselling concealer from NYX has so many strengths. Of course, it covers like nobody’s business. Then there’s also the fact that the formula is available in 20 colors, so you’re almost guaranteed to find a perfect match for your skin tone. And of course, the drugstore price is pretty nice too.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer (available in 11 colors): If you’re looking for a skin-like finish and a very light feel in your concealer, this cult favorite from Urban Decay might be your match. I find that it works extremely well on normal, combination, and oily skin, and there’s a color available for almost every skin tone. Urban Decay also recently launched a coordinating line of Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluids in six different shades if you’d like to color correct a specific discoloration in your skin. I’m a fan of the pink and peach shades for combatting dark circles.

Laura Mercier Secret Concealer (available in 11 colors): I originally bought this concealer when I lived in California, and I’ve loved it ever since. It has an emollient and slightly tacky feel, which allows this concealer to stick to your dark circles all day long. I like using a peachy shade of this potted concealer as a base to cancel out discoloration, and then I top with a slightly more matte concealer to give a smoother finish. If you’re looking for a good base concealer or need a more moisturizing formula, definitely check out this classic concealer from Laura Mercier.

Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer (available in 6 colors): This fancy-schmancy concealer is legendary in the beauty community. It’s touted as the best of the best by almost every magazine editor, but the price tag will make you blush. While I haven’t bit the bullet on this concealer (yet), I have so many friends that absolutely swear by its formula that I feel completely comfortable recommending it to you. Everyone that I know who owns this concealer swears that it is worth every penny because the highly-pigmented formula covers absolutely everything, and the formula melts into your skin like a dream. If you’re in the mood for a beauty splurge, this luxurious product might be a good investment.

Exuviance CoverBlend Multi-Function Concealer (available in 3 colors): I originally discovered this concealer back in 2011, and it’s been a staple in my collection ever since. It has a lightweight formula that blends easily, and it’s packed with all sorts of good-for-you skincare ingredients. If you’re going to conceal your under eye circles, you might as well give yourself a skincare treatment at the same time!

Dermablend Quick-Fix Concealer (available in 10 colors): Dermablend is known for their high-coverage products, and this stick concealer lives up to their reputation for fabulous products. While you can apply it directly to your skin from the tube, I like to warm the product up on my finger and then pat it onto the trouble area. It has a thick and slightly sticky texture, so it will grab onto blemishes and keep them concealed all day long.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer (available in 6 colors): This product is another cult classic concealer that’s been a bestseller for years. It packs so much coverage in such a small tube, and the formula is packed with moisturizing ingredients that are fabulous for dry skin. It’s also available in an illuminating version if you’d like even more brightness in your under eye area. Due to the high moisture content, this concealer doesn’t dry down on your skin, so I like to set it with a translucent setting powder for the ideal finish.

Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Crème (available in 21 colors): This concealer has heavy-duty coverage and a phenomenal cover range. If you’re a super pale girl, you’re gonna love this line. Kat Von D even made a pure white concealer for the lightest of light skin tones. Whether you’re trying to cover up dark circles or mask a breakout, this product is one of the best full coverage concealers on the market.

Dermablend Smooth Liquid Camo Concealer (available in 5 colors): Back in the day, I was actually an HSN model for Dermablend, and I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with the PR team and women who had worn Dermablend for their entire life. While this concealer isn’t quite as intense as their legendary Cover Creme (the fullest coverage foundation available on the market), it is absolutely fabulous for everyday use. It has a lightweight and moisturizing formula that glides across your under eye circles while providing the perfect amount of coverage. Dermablend is truly such a fabulous brand, so if you’re in the market for any full-coverage products, I’d definitely check out their line.

BECCA Ultimate Coverage Concealing Crème (available in 12 colors): This potted concealer has amazing coverage, and the emollient formula will  keep your under eye circles hydrated throughout the day. Because of its high moisture content, you’ll want to set this concealer with a powder for the best results.
