Kiss-Proof Lips: How to Make Your Lipstick Last Longer
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Know Cosmetics. All opinions are 100% mine.
So, here’s the dilemma. You’re headed to a holiday party, and you want to wear bright red lipstick. While a festive lip color might seem like a good idea, it’s problematic for so many reasons. One accidental swipe of your hand could cause your lipstick to smudge all over your face. A few bites of food could wear off half of the color and leave behind a splotchy mess. And let’s not even talk about the inconvenience when you want to kiss a special someone underneath the mistletoe at a Christmas party or at the stroke of midnight at your New Year’s Eve bash. Thankfully, I have found the solution to this lipstick conundrum. Keep reading to learn how to make your lipstick last longer without smudging and transform it into a completely kiss-proof formula!
A bold red lip instantly makes me feel more glamorous, but I normally only wear bold lipstick if I know that I won’t be eating, drinking, or kissing anyone for quite a few hours… which basically means I almost never wear bold lipstick. I love the look of bright colors, but I just don’t want to have to worry about having lipstick on my teeth or smearing magenta lipstick on my new dress. I should say that I didn’t want to worry (past tense) because I’ve found a product that’s literally changed the way I think about lipstick.
Say hello to the lipstick lover’s best friend: “No, My Lips Are Sealed” by Know Cosmetics (sold at Sephora). This product is a transparent gel lipstick topcoat that helps make any lipstick last longer. It reduces fading and smudging, so your lipstick will stay in place whether you’re sipping on a Diet Coke at work, attending a never-ending event, or kissing your boyfriend underneath the mistletoe. It works with any lipstick, and it is unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. It makes my lipstick stay in place for hours, but it doesn’t dry out my lips. It’s magic, and I’m just going to tell you that you’re going to need to run to Sephora and pick up a tube after reading this post.
Kiss-Proof Lips: Make Your Lipstick Last Longer
The “No, My Lips Are Sealed” Lipstick Topcoat by Know Cosmetics works perfectly over any lipstick, but I like to combine with a few other long-lasting lipstick tricks for even better results. Follow this simple six-step process to get the perfect kiss-proof lips!
Step 1 (optional) : Line your lips with a lip liner to create a perfect and precise lip shape.
Step 2 (optional) : Fill in your lips with lip liner to establish a long-lasting base color on your lips.
Step 3: Apply a matching lipstick on top of your lip liner.
Step 4: Blot your lips with a tissue or toilet paper to remove excess lipstick.
Step 5: Apply a generous layer of “No, My Lips Are Sealed” Lipstick Topcoat from Know Cosmetics (sold at Sephora) across your upper and bottom lips.
Step 6: Allow the lipstick topcoat to dry completely for a few minutes and then test the finish of your lips by kissing your hand or tapping your finger against your lips. When the product is fully set, you shouldn’t see any color transferring. If you eat foods throughout the day or re-apply your lipstick, be sure to add an extra coat of the “No, My Lips Are Sealed” Lipstick Topcoat.
You can watch me go through all six steps in this quick video. Plus, you’ll see the huge difference in the before-and-after kiss test! While I applied lip liner to help me achieve a precise lip line for this look, it’s a completely optional step. This lipstick topcoat works perfectly over any lipstick and doesn’t require lip liner.
Whether you’re headed to a holiday party or need a long-lasting lipstick for long days at the office, you need to check out Know Cosmetics’“No, My Lips Are Sealed” Lipstick Topcoat.
