Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette
I’ve been an Urban Decay fan since I was in the 7th grade. I ordered one of their eye shadow palettes on a whim, and I’ve been a die-hard fan of the brand ever since. Their whimsical packaging, expansive color range, and consistent quality never fail to impress me. The most famous Urban Decay products have to be their infamous Naked palettes, and I can now proudly say that I am the owner of all seven palettes in the collection. The latest addition to the Naked lineup is the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette, and it’s been majorly hyped up on YouTube and social media. Today I’m going through all of the pros and cons of this palette, and I’m also sharing swatches of each shade. If you’re wondering if the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette is worth the hype or not, keep reading!
The Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette features twelve stunning eye shadows with neutral shades that range from a pale cream to a deep black. If you’re a fan of neutral eye shadows, and especially matte eye shadows, you’re really going to like this palette. The shades allow you to create everything from a no-makeup makeup look to a dramatic smoky eye, and there is a variety of cool and warm colors. Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics works well as a stand-alone palette or as the ultimate addition to your other eye shadow palettes.
For reference, Blow, Nudie, and Commando appear faint because they’re very close to the color of my skin. They’re much more noticeable in person.
I’ve heard mixed reviews about the quality on YouTube, but in my opinion, these are really nice eye shadows. They’re pigmented, smooth, and very easy to work with. All of the colors work well together, and they layer like a dream. My absolute favorites have to be Blow and Extra Bitter, but I honestly really like every single shade in this palette.
When I first swatched this palette, I was worried about the pigmentation of Nudie and Lethal. They both seemed a little bit sheer and patchy in my first finger swatch; however, they’ve become two of my favorite shades in the collection. On my pale skin, Nudie is a stunning transition shade, and it’s slightly sheer quality actually makes it better for blending out the edges of your look. Lethal is another shade that’s much better when applied with a brush. It has a drier consistency than some of the other shades, but it blends nicely and can be layered to increase its intensity. If you were pleased with the quality of the previous Naked palettes, you definitely won’t have a problem with these eye shadows.
Now that I’ve bragged about the color selection and quality of the eye shadows, let’s talk about the amazing packaging. The Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette is one of the prettiest palettes in my collection. The rose gold starburst exterior is absolutely hypnotizing, and the compact size is great for travel and everyday use.
If you’re in the market for a neutral eye shadow palette, the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette is a great choice. It would also be the perfect birthday or Christmas gift idea for any beauty enthusiast on your shopping list.Urban Decay has created yet another product that’s destined for super stardom.
